The Connally Hotel Downtown Atlanta, an Ascend Collection Hotel

So we went to check in and was unaware of a deposit fee for booing over Expedia after room was totally paid for. So another $80. Then the guy at reception couldn’t tell me if cash app was available as a payment source. We finally get a room booked and he books us in an occupied room where a woman had an emergency and had to leave early. Come to find out she had just called the desk while we were trying to check in and she canceled the rest of her reservation and he booked us her room while she was still packing. When we went to open the door with the key card we ended up having to knock and the lady opened the door and was like wow he booked my room already and I haven’t even finished packing! She let us in the room and hurried to leave. She APOLOGIZED! And the guy at the desk never even ordered maid service to clean the room that had been used and slept in already! I’m not sure if he was new or just lazy or just didn’t know his job. Since we were already running behind, we did a quick room check and wiped stuff down and just slept in the unused bed. Really don’t know what else to say.

Where it located you can get transportation to go everywhere!!

The male front desk worker is terrible, AC doesn’t work and the television doesn’t work. Cleaning of the rooms are properly done. I would not recommend.

This hotel is an older hotel in part of Atlanta that is trying to be revitalized. The pricing was good and the hotel is in good shape. The room was comfortable. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, but you need to be aware. There is no parking so your options are park in a public parking deck or use the valet service day offer so whatever your price is you need to add $55 a day for the valet or $30 a day for the public lot also you need to be aware that there are countless numerous amounts of homeless people wandering around on the streets but felt fairly safe because of the heavy police and security presence.

Upon checking in to the property, received keys for my room once I got to the room the door was hard to open and to close you have to push with ur body to up and close it but that’s not the kicker there were several roaches in the room that I had to kill then one big one it ran under the room door heading into the hallways really had a bad experience

It’s across the street from our favorite Venue ( the Masquerade ) love the staff and it was probably our 10-15 th stay

This property is very historical. Arrived and several guests were unable to get rooms, staff was working over due to lack of staff, but they were good! Room updated, but still several things needed fixed. Was supposed to get double room, didn’t have available. Pull out bed mattress was not the best. Gym was good. Breakfast was good.

The front desk staff was very friendly and fun. Check in was easy. The kitchen staff was also nice during breakfast. But the cleaning staff never once entered my room for the almost one week stay... this despite having the "please make my room up" sign hanging on the door. The surrounding area is a little dodgy but the unhoused peoples around never cause much commotion. It helps that the subway station is right across the street and it is only a 15 minute walk to the heart of downtown.

no hot water. room was swampy. ac had to run consistently. tv didn’t work. only stay if you need to. Only available hotel during con.

Took over an hour to check in. They sent us to 6 different rooms before one had actually been cleaned. Very frustrating to say the least carrying our baggage up and down the hotel with our two children. Finally the front desk decided to go find a room that had been cleaned and check it themselves before I would go on anymore wild goose chases. The hotel did not offer any apologies or refunds for the inconvenience. One room they sent us to, you couldn’t even breath in due to the smoking odors. The fire alarms were covered with plastic or shower caps. Ridiculous.

The tv and refrigerator did not work. We called about the tv and were told they would send someone to fix it. That never happened. The room was miserably hot. When we tried to adust the thermostat we found the batteries to be too low. We had to make a midnight trip to the lobby to let them know. They gave us batteries and we had to fix it ourselves. The area is a little sketchy. A lot of homeless people nearby.

The third shift staff is very rude, the shower water is cold, the bathroom sink doesn't drain water, and they do not clean the rooms. I do not recommend.

Room was clean, but parking was $55 a night.

Regardless reading the bad reviews, I have been staying twice in the hotel for concerts and I had no bad impression. Staff is very helpful with your car parking, with your luggage, with any questions you have. Also the room was clean with amenities and everything. The area is good, it’s close to the stadiums on walking distance. Yes, of course there are homeless people around, but that’s downtown in a big city, every big city is like that! It is not perfect, you can always find small things to complain about but this is not a 5 star hotel, for its price it’s perfect!

The hotel is NOTHING like what the pixtures shown. It was in a SUPER BAD LOCATION. Did not feel safe at all lots of homeless/ drug attacks around the hotel and neighbors on the side and in front of my room where Super load with load music. I would take this hotel off of the website
