Very nice to be on campus with good parking and friendly staff

Good stay.

Convenient of you’re visiting Temple University. The inn is nothing special but the staff is great. The young men and women who work there are helpful and friendly. The inn is directly on campus so nights can be loud. My only complaint is that the AC was not working and the room was stifling hot. We didn’t notice until late so did not bother to call for maintenance in the middle of the night, our fault. I’ve stayed at the Conwell many times and have found it just fine.

It's clean and safe and right in the heart of campus. But the air conditioning does not work, the tubs don't drain very well (meaning: you're showering in a pool of dirty water), and there are essentially no amenities whatsoever (no fitness center, in-room fridge, safe, or even a phone to call for help). If you can, bring a fan to compensate for the lack of A/C. The location is terrific and the hotel is overall clean and trustworthy. But it's long overdue for a basic renovation (rooms likely date to the 70s/80s). If you have difficulty sleeping when the room is too warm, this may not be the place for you. It's far from food (save for the campus pub & 7/11). But you don't have to be afraid of your surroundings and the campus is gorgeous.

Really quaint hotel. The rooms are a bit dated but charming! Front staff was super nice and helpful. Parking lot is narrow and a bit hard to find at first. Very convenient to anyone with children attending Temple University. We enjoyed our stay there.

Excellent hotel. The room was perfect. Loved the availability of tea and coffee both in our room and in the lobby. Would return here and would recommend to others. If you have a Temple music student having a concert it is perfectly located for that.

Obviously, one stays here because one has activity or business plans on the Temple campus. Super convenient, in that case. As for the hotel itself, it's an average, dated hotel. Fixtures are old and average. Nothing really stands out as extraordinary, because it's well, an average campus hotel. My stays here (twice over 4 years) were fine. Only one complaint, the bed in 510 - it's a mushy marshmallow and I was in much pain for 3 days after my stay there.

At check in no one was at the desk, waited about 30 mins or so for someone to come to check us in and give us a room key. There were a bunch of extra fees that weren't listed on the hotels webpage, $20 parking fee, $80 pet fee. The sink in the bathroom was small, it was a pedestal sink instead of a vanity so there was no place to put soap or your toothbrush. This sink had hair from previous guests in it, the tub had stains in the bottom around the drain. No one EVER answers the phone at the front desk because no one is ever at the front desk! I called before we got there to request a late check in, no answer, called while we were there, no answer. The tub dips in the middle so it was treacherous trying to shower with water and soap everywhere cuz I kept slipping in that dip. The bed has no structure, it was more like sleeping on 10 comforters stacked up rather than a bed, if you laid in the middle of it the sides folded up like a taco! Yet again at checkout no one was at the front desk and when she finally did appear she had a nasty attitude rolling her eyes and turning her back walking away while I was trying to talk to her. It was very conveniently located to where I came into town for but I'd never stay there again!

Great location to be able to walk back and forth to a sports tournament at the Temple STAR building. About a five minute walk from the hotel. Parking was a little tricky to find but adequate. No fridge in the hotel room.

Very nice hotel for the price

We loved our stay at the Conwell. We came to Philadelphia to see a show at The Met, and it was an easy walk to the venue. The staff was helpful and friendly. The only issue was when we woke up, there was no hot water, and we had to leave without a shower. We were not given a reason for the lack of hot water, just that the manager was notified.

The staff was great. Our room was basic but very clean and the window opened (thank heavens because the place is way over heated). Very convenient to visit my daughter at Temple and the Temple campus is lovely. Lots of fast food nearby and student-y places but no nicer restaurants for dinner. Convenient subway to center city, though. I liked Conwell Inn and will stay there again.

This is a cozy, convenient place to stay. The staff is very friendly.

The inn is my go to place when in Philly. No whistles or bells just clean and comfortable. The desk staff and housekeeper are fun, efficient and friendly. Hats off to tori and Juanita for knowing how to engage their clients and have fun.

We found this an affordable and convenient location for our recent convention in Philadelphia. The price was fantastic, and the staff was helpful. It's a straight shot to the convention center. The parking is super cheap, but open air (not garaged), however there's a police station attached to the inn so we weren't too worried. Amenities are simple, but reflect the pricing. It was clean and quiet. However, note: * The beds are laughably soft. Like, sink into them when you sit in the edge and roll to the middle. My husband ended up in pain over this. * There is no bathroom vanity, only a vintage style pedestal sink in the room we had. No flat surfaces. Nowhere to rest makeup or toiletries at all. No shelves. This could be such an easy and cheap fix (install a couple small shelves.) * The parking is behind the building and it's not readily apparent how which building is the Inn since you're coming at it from a different direction and the building are close. We wandered in the freezing cold before finding the right way. On our way out another guest stopped me and asked how to find the Inn because he took was confused. A simple sign with an arrow and a sentence to guide guests would be so helpful. Knowing all this, we will definitely book again for next year's convention.

Really quaint inn right outside Center Philly. Although we were not visiting for the college, being right in campus was very convenient and felt safe. Super close to late night restaurants. Slightly outdated room if you care about that sort of thing, but very clean and spacious. Our room was not accessible as there were stairs inside the room, if you are in need of accommodation for that I would recommend calling and making sure this is not the case before you book. Definitely recommend and would stay here again!
