Careful thought was given to preserve the feel of the original when rebuilt after the fire. We felt in a way as if we had stepped back in time..yet lacked nothing of modern comforts. Unique and romantic! Excellent service, the complementary breakfast was truly the best we have ever experienced.

Loved the ambiance of this inn. Really lovely and warm. The owner was extremely welcoming and kind and was always greeting us coming and going and always a genuine smile and a care of how our stay was going.

Staff were wonderful atmosphere was wonderful peaceful and relaxing were what we needed! Breakfast was a step above most places especially during this covid time of no contact! Towels and robe were amazingly soft! Spa services were top notch ( couples massage) will definitely return!

Beautiful 2 BR cabin - Rocky Broad - right on the banks of the Broad River. Opening the sliding door or window allowed the sounds of the rushing water to soothe our minds and the fire pit was a great place for late night conversation. The meals at the Esmeralda Inn were fabulous and every staff member was attentive and helpful. They all seemed genuinely eager to assist. Highly recommend this destination for a getaway!

This boutique hotel is a Pearl in the mountains!

The property is beautiful and overlooking a stunning river, staff was very nice and responsive, but it was full of ants and was really not what we would have expected for the price. We were also a bit disappointed with the lack of communication regarding the facilities and general information.

The hotel and staff were excellent. We really felt like it was home away from home.

Service was excellent, very friendly staff, and very clean. Only complaint would be the mattress was uncomfortable, definitely needed a new one, and the showers needed to be updated. These 2 complaints would not keep me from staying again but it would make it more enjoyable. We will be back and I do recommend staying here if you're in the lake lure area.

We loved this cabin. Gorgeous facility and setting.

The staff is extremely courteous, friendly, and willing to make you feel welcome. The overall facilities are beautiful. Location is wonderful and close to shops and restaurants. The downside was the room that we stayed at. Room 112 was minuscule, worn down, the shower floor had a slimy film, the A/C unit was loud, but the worst of all, was the mattress. It probably has been the most uncomfortable bed that we have slept on, or at least attempted to. Regarding CDC guidelines, the hotel makes you sign a disclaimer which states that ‘for safety measures’ your room will not be cleaned during your stay, but you can request to have your towels refreshed. I thought that was absolutely ridiculous since you are paying to have a clean room and bed made each day. The restaurant offers marvelous food and their staff, again, is quite attentive. Unfortunately, even when they claim to be at 50% capacity in order to follow CDC guidelines, the chairs are still back to back, and definitely not 6 ft apart.
