Basic up keep is dont. Light bulbs out, toilet water wouldn't stop running so had to fix it. Heat didn't work right on auto. Just some basics but still had a nice time.

Beautiful old-fashioned inn with a gorgeous fireplace in a large, high ceilinged common room.
Make reservations in the inn's restaurant way in advance. It's very popular. Spacious room with a comfortable bed. Enjoy!

Great Stay at the Inn. We regret that we didnt think ahead for a Spa appointment before we arrived. That would have made it even better. I suggest you try it.

Charming historic inn in a beautiful Brandywine Valley location, but the experience was mixed. No breakfast, unfriendly service, and the spa was fully booked—which was frustrating for overnight guests.
Our room was clean and characterful, but the steep, narrow staircase inside felt unsafe—we nearly fell carrying luggage. Gorgeous setting, but overall disappointing stay.

We have stayed many many times over the last 10 years at the Inn at Montchanin Village and have always loved it for its unique charm and wonderful location. In recent stays we have noticed that it is in need of an overall interior renovation. Lampshades are torn, windows don't close, and fabrics are worn. We do hope that the owners will breathe new life in this little treasure.

They had a wedding the night before we arrived so the entire place was pulled apart and not looking its best. We were not happy with comfort of the king bed . They need a new ,mattress

I have stayed at this Inn many times over the years since it opened. It used to be a luxury Inn and a wonder place to stay
Now unfortunately the rooms are in need of a serious update and refresh. It appears nothing has been done to the maintaining the rooms since it opened as an Inn several decades ago

Luxurious, spacious, beautifully furnished and appointed. The staff is marvelous. I don't recommend the restaurant on site, which is under different management.

The staff were amazing and the location is great. The two bedroom unit we stayed in had badly stained carpet and the walls were paper this and we could hear conversations of our neighbors.
Also limited ways to get to the room and if you have bags, good luck.
