The Lucerne Hotel

Quiet comfortable room. Convenient location

The door staff were amazing and the only good thing about this stay. The room… dated, creaky. The front desk staff tried to gaslight me for 3 days that the full sized bed in my room was a Queen sized bed. I had no problem staying there with the smaller bed (I only had a short stay and I was traveling alone), but I shouldn’t have to pay for a Queen sized room if the bed is not in fact a Queen sized. The staff even sent a picture with a measuring tape in which they omitted a length wise measurement and the width side measurement the tape measure was not flush at the far end and the end did not reach the 60” that is the correct width dimension for a Queen sized. THEREFORE, by their own measurements the mattress was not a Queen sized. No problem, just don’t CHARGE me for a Queen sized and gaslight me my entire stay to not believe my own eyes when I can clearly see that the bed is a full sized mattress and not a Queen sized. I would not stay here again… It was the gaslighting from the front desk staff that makes this hotel particularly poor. Guess next time I’ll stick with Hilton and Marriott. I’ve never had a problem either switching rooms or getting a refund when the mattress was not the appropriate size at these hotels.

Okay so far. Obviously the benefit of this hotel is its location.

Very friendly & helpful staff all around (front desk, doorman/porter/bell hop, housekeeping). Arrived before check-in time & front desk alerted me by txt msg as soon as room was available (~5hrs prior to official check-in time), and accommodated late check-out by up to 30min. Only blemish was I encountered (& exterminated) a very small cockroach in the bathroom during my stay.

Very nice staff very clean room. I didn't like the mattress but that's just because I back issues. I think most people would find it perfectly comfortable.

The hotel was very nice. The attached restaurant, where hotel guests receive a discount on breakfast (Nice Matin) is also very good with very reasonable prices.

Room had an interior view of a light shaft, but this kept it quiet, no street noise.

We had an excellent stay at The Lucerne! The staff was wonderful, our room was spotless, comfortable, and in a perfect location. I especially appreciated that the Peloton bikes were updated and ready to ride—something I don’t often find when traveling. Thank you for making everything so enjoyable. A truly great stay!

Awesome hotel on the upper west side. Very convenient walk to local restaurants and to the natural history museum. Close to the subway as well.

The hotel was lovely. Great location, spacious rooms for NYC, wonderful, friendly service and excellent beds and linens.

Great location - incredibly convenient. There is store across the street, a lovely restaurant in the hotel and many eating establishments nearby. The staff was attentive. Housekeeping was excellent.
