So cute! The location is perfect. Close enough to the downtown happenings without being in the middle of it. It's an easy walk to pretty much everything you need. We commented multiple times on how much we loved the look of the room. The colors, the style, and the little touches randomly throughout. Thank you!

As a graphic designer, I admire all the signage and details of The Sparrow. Super hip and modern. The room was perfect. All the nice amenities of the bright orange mini-fridge & water kettle to make warm beverages. Medina (front desk clerk) went way beyond to assist me. I injured my knee so she helped me load my luggage & bags on a trolley to take up to my room as I parked. The private parking lot was right there. The outdoor area is nice and the coffee shop was surprisingly tasty and convenient. They are building a huge hotel across the street but construction didn’t bug me. I didn’t try out free gym access but will next time. Highly recommend the fun and clean hotel. “Put a bird on it” Portlandia

My dog vomited a little bit on the floor. We used one washcloth to clean it up and got the washcloth quite dirty. However, we left no stains whatsoever on the multi-colored brown carpet. My dog also spilled her water dish in the bathroom so we used our already used bath towels to dry it up, so they were quite wet (from plain water) when we checked out. They charged us a $50 fee. When I called to inquire they said that there was dog urine on the carpet and on several towels. That was patently false. The towels were indeed wet....with water! Yes, we ruined a single washcloth. We had already paid a $35 dog non-refundable pet fee to cover any damage. How much does a single washcloth cost to replace? Seems like that should be covered by the $35 pet fee but then they charged me an extra $50....for damage to ONE washcloth! I left three messages for the manager to call me back to discuss this and they never called me back.

The side of the building facing the alley is extremely loud at night with beer bottles being emptied into dumpsters at 2 when bars close and garbage trunks coming by 4 am to empty dumpsters. Air conditioning unit is 2 feet from your head when sleeping. We had many issues with our room but staff did end up refunding us for our stay so I won’t go into details too much but just make sure you check everything for cleanliness before getting situated. Parking is also tough, get there early to pay for a parking spot or you may be out of luck. Location was great, walking distance to all the things downtown and the market on Saturday morning.

I loved The Sparrow, so I offer this as constructive feedback. 1. My room didn't have a back-up roll of toilet paper and therefore I had to go to the front desk and request more which was quickly accomadated. 2. There was no hand-soap in the bathroom sink areal - had to use the shower body wash soap. 3. The air conditioner is very loud, discovered the ear plugs provided at front desk after night 2 which helped. 4. When my colleague and I arrived to check-in, no one was at the front desk. We waited about 10 minutes and then decided we'd go shopping for a while and try again later.

Paying that much to be right downtown, and noticing all of the little extras that was provided and were cutesy. The staff just needs to pay more attention to cleanliness. The small details count. The elevator has scuff marks all over it the carpet looks horrible and there's fingerprints and crusty items in the cracks and corners. Extremely gross to be getting into it such a tiny elevator in it feel extremely gross. The air conditioner on the first floor right before the elevator has black substance, assuming mold coming off of the main screen on it. The air conditioner unit in my room is covered in dust. Light bulbs covered in dust. The walls chipped cracked foot scuffs everywhere. The worst is just getting on the elevator and feeling like you were in a low end apartment complex. Everything else, amazing. The overall glance at the room was clean it's just so tiny details. Sheets super soft very comfy pillows amazing windows clean bathroom clean everything else is just paying attention to the tiny stuff.

We loved The Sparrow. Great location and comfortable room. Our only complaint is the "perfume" used in the hotel was very strong and made us both stuffy. I would ask that you dial back the scent. It is not needed and takes away from a great space.
