This is the second time I've stayed here and I was once again delighted by the friendly and helpful staff (we had to stay two extra days due to a storm and they were very quick to assist in booking us and were even able to keep us in the same room). Having access to a steamer and filtered water is also fantastic!
I love the convenience of the morning coffee and pastry service, and the location cannot be beat in terms of food, culture and shopping!

Speakeasy rooftops bar is NOT open 7 days & there no bar inside the hotel. Next to the hotel is restaurant/bar only for wealthy people otherwise staffs will treat unequally

I was disappointed with my stay for a few reasons:
1. The room was functional but felt cold and uninviting. It lacked warmth—no rugs, minimal textures, and nothing in the bathroom to make it feel cozy.
2. Security was a concern. Anyone could enter the building and access the elevators, which felt unsettling given the lively but sometimes unpredictable surroundings.
3. The water never stayed warm. I couldn’t shower for more than two minutes at a time without it turning cold. Also, note to bring your own conditioner as they don’t supply any.
4. Communication was frustrating. The front desk staff directed everything to a customer service text line, which was slow to respond and didn’t allow calls. This made even simple requests a hassle.

The only reason it loses a star is that it’s not the most luxurious. Rooms are clean and new but lack some of the usual amenities like lotion and tissue and robes, and the gym is very small so you have to reserve in advance and limit it to members of your party. However, for the price in that area, it’s a fantastic place to stay. Great neighborhood and convenient to everywhere with a dozen subway lines nearby.
I was a bit worried about finding the entrance but Freeman Alley was easy to spot — just make sure your driver goes down Rivington, not Bowery. And no problem checking in after 6 as the front desk was staffed until very late.
