Lovely place in a stunning setting, would have without a doubt been 5 stars across the board until we went for breakfast. Food was very nice, but we were sat at a table that wasn’t the best situated and felt a bit close to others when better tables were available and offered to other guests but not us. Table hadn’t been cleaned properly and there were marks on the glass. Getting the attention of staff was an issue and I didn’t want to bring this up in front of other paying guests. We then sat there nearly 30 minutes without the table being cleared or being asked for any further drinks, then another 10 minutes to get the bill, left us with little time to get back to our room and pack before our checkout time.

Totally luxurious and relaxing experience. The surrounding river environment and villages idyllic. Well appointed room and comfortable bed. The Coppa can sting you a bit with service fees but good service food and atmosphere. Loved the Peirpont Cafe across the bridge for breakfast or lunch

The riverside setting is wonderful and design superb, but the hotel lets itself down with maintenence issues, and the enormous Coppa Club is beautiful but chaotic, serving food that can only be described as 'average' at that are definitely not, with friendly but poor service. I was part of a party booking a lot of rooms over different platforms, since the venue was near to a wedding we were attending. Unfortunately, several had issues. My daughter's initial room featured a constant, throbbing vibration neither she nor I could tolerate (it's inappropriate to offer it). A friend turned on her basin tap and if fell off in her hand. Both were offered alternative rooms. Room service was negligible: we came back to a shabbily made bed and nothing else addressed, such as dirty cups, and our milk wasn't replenished so I had to ask for more. Our room was great but there was no net behind the curtains so, since we were road-facing, we couldn't dress for the wedding in natural light. Other guests had nets. Some rooms offered free little pots of honey for guests. Ours didn't. It was odd. The worst bit? Dinner took more that an hour to arrive for some people and was no more than adequate. Breakfast was even worse: burnt offerings at exhorbitant prices, coffee that arrived after I'd finished eating. Staff were charming but seemed in a consant state of confusion. Despite all this, the hotel is almost perfect. But it needs to pull up its socks.

Nice hotel in a beautiful area, staff were polite but not very friendly. I did feel that I was being ripped off as the prices were top end and the quality wasn’t. DO NOT ask for a taxi, they organised a cab from central Reading that charged £40 for a 2 mile 10 minute journey at 3:30 in the afternoon!! Totally shocked at this.

We had an evening meal in the Coppa restaurant which was a lovely restaurant with great views but the food was underwhelming and quite expensive. Chicken and just red cabbage and the chicken was greasy. We would not eat here again.

Stay there during the week for two and a half years, when I was working. Great hotel, great staff. 😊

Great working space with River views

Lovely hotel in a gorgeous riverside location. Exceptionally clean and friendly welcoming staff. Great food. Lovely bedroom and pet friendly too. Great walks nearby. Would defo return

Staff were good. Poor nights sleep though as the room we had on the upper floor was far too hot and uncomfortable to sleep in ( not sure how people cope in summer as it was 10 degrees outside) . No other rooms available as there was a wedding going on at the hotel .They had already provided a fan in the room ( so they must know about the issue) which we had to use all night as well as keep the Juliette balcony door open. Food in the restaurant was ok but service and staff were very good. Leaving disappointed , especially given the cost of the room.

Fabulous location, great room and excellent staff

The property is lovely, scenic in beautiful surroundings. We stayed in a comfy double room for 1 night which was fine and we appreciated the amenities in the room (iron/ironing board, bottled water etc). It was generally clean, with some minor points. The soundproofing isnt great as you could hear people in the corridor and the neighbouring room but thankfully it was a peaceful night. The staff were friendly and overall it is a nice Hotel and I would stay again. We were dissappinted that breakfast was unavailable in the morning as it was fully booked. We did ask the day before and were told there was no need to book and to just go to the restaurant in the morning. We understand it was Mothers Day that morning but we should have been told to book a table for breakfast. The fact that we were hotel guests didnt mean anything.

Having stayed here regularly over the years the Swan feels like it’s lost its wow somehow

Excellent stay at The Swan - a beautiful hotel in a stunning location right on the edge of the River Thames. The Boathouse pub was a super addition to the hotel, and dinner at Coppa Club was superb. Incredibly welcoming to our dog too. We will be back!

Great upgraded Thames view room, attentive staff and value for money pre-paid breakfast.

Very smooth running by staff who were approachable but still professional. The whole overnight experience was very relaxing!

The hotel itself was great however the restaurant really let itself down. It was New Years Eve and understandably busy however we were left with empty drinks for thirty minuets and a number of other issues. I would love to stay at the hotel again because that side of it was gorgeous and well organised but I would not return to the restaurant!
