Hotel was nice, great location for the NEC also. I was not impressed with staff attitude though. Our room wasn't ready to check in to, we had to wait in reception for 40 minutes even though this was after the 3pm check in time. When I asked how long it would be as we'd driven a long way and had food booked so needed to get ready, the woman on reception was very rude saying they'd been fully booked the previous night, the room wasn't ready and there was nothing they couldn't do about that. Also check out was 12.00, cleaning staff knocked our door at 11 and asked how long we'd be before checking out. I said we'd be checking out by 12 and she was annoyed by this.

Great hotel. We stay at a lot of places because of work, and this is a really decent one. Especially the breakfast. I have coeliac disease so need gluten free options, and they have loads. Plus are happy to make you a fresh cooked breakfast so there is no risk of cross contamination. The staff, especially the breakfast team, were all super friendly even though they were clearly rushed off their feet.

Staff were lovely Air con in room kept making loud noises during the night which meant we had very little sleep as it kept waking us. Not sure why it was making a noise when it wasn’t turned on.

Strange single room with the toilet in your bedroom! Also the temperature was really cold and I couldn't warm it up with the aircon system. They provided a heater in the room but the wire didn't reach the available plug sockets! Wouldn't bother staying here again.

1. I requested a cot in advance that wasn’t left in the room despite reception confirming on check in that it would be there 2. I requested extra pillows while checking in which never arrived 3. The extra pillows in the wardrobe were blood stained 4. My husband ordered a dessert in the bar, it never arrived. The staff wouldn’t refund it as they “couldn’t find the ticket” the kitchen staff wouldn’t make it as they also “couldn’t find the ticket”. The waiter wouldn’t go back into the kitchen to ask, so my husband had to go to the kitchen door and ask for the dessert to be made. 5. A hotel this large and busy shouldn’t be having such poor service in the bar - we requested a dish of plain pasta for our friend’s toddler, and the waiter had to go back and forth to the kitchen 3 times before he could confirm it was possible, though there was plenty of pasta dishes on the menu.
