Great place to stay, rooms newly renovated, clean amd spacious. Only misses we found was on check-in the front desk staff person was a little gruff and hurried with us, she seemed busy with other things on her mind. The other issue was the breakfast service lacking the standard of a fairmont, slow service and customer confusion, our toast arrived 15 mins beforehand and stone cold by the time rest of breakfast arrived. Server cannot be faulted but definitely we understand the kitchen is far away during construction, but the prices are still full mark so disappointing this was an excuse. As a result the omelette when it finally arrived was quite dry and underwhelming. They took off bill which was considerate and apologetic. Also no HP sauce interesting but not a big deal. We will return as our go to but may go JW as service levels mixed on this visit.

We stayed at the fairmont hotel Macdonald twice now and absolutely love it!! The staff are so friendly and helpful! Shoutout to Paul would went above and beyond to make our anniversary stay special including a personalized card, flowers and cake! The property is beautiful and although they are doing quite a few renovations and the one restaurant is closed, you would hardly know. One downside is the pool and hot tub close very early on Sunday nights (8pm). Would be nice if it was open later for guests that want to enjoy it later.

Staff was top tier, helpful and room was fantastic with the exception of a air vent above our room that kept constantly banging. Menu for in room dining was okay burger was great, ravioli wasn't but that may be a personal opinion. Tenderloin was prepared perfectly. One small elevator was annoying to the 7th floor, but all in all a good stay.

Room was clean, staff were happy, attentive, and extremely helpful.

The staff was very friendly and the hotel is quite charming with history. Typical of Fairmont hotels. A great hotel for spoiling or treating others. I agree with the over all rating of the other hotel reviews of it. Recommend to stay at if interested in staying at. Just remember it is an old hotel of 1915 and has been updated since then.

Beautiful room, overlooking the river. Avoid the Commonwealth resturant at all costs. Food and Service awful. However, the Harvest resturant might as well be part of a different hotel?! Great food and service.
