Good location but room was too warm and air con didn’t work properly

The place was unbelievably beyond our expectations staff room and breakfast was very good.Whenever we visit St Helens we will definitely book with you and we will also recommend our friends to book with you.👍🙏

Great for a quick business trip. Nearby shops and supermarkets. Great gym.

We were not initially happy with our room as a lot of the light was blocked by the building. We spoke to Raj the manager at reception and he was extremely helpful and we couldn’t fault the customer service. He immediately offered us another room and in fact went above and beyond and offered a suite which was on the 3rd highest floor so view/light was not blocked. Overall, had a nice spacious room, decent breakfast and enjoyable stay.

Clean and comfortable

Had a room with a connecting door (room 322). Could hear occupants in adjoining room talking into early hours of the morning. Otherwise we had a good stay and good food in the restaurant. Restaurant menu is quite comprehensive I might add.

Comfortable rooms, nice decor, clean hotel only downfall is the items in the room. Body wash was empty so we had to call for one and not enough tea for x2 nights Reception brought this straight away £50 deposit still hasn't been refunded which is poor Generally a nice stay

Our team stayed here on business whilst working in the area. The hotel was fully booked for our first week and had the awful option of nowhere to stay other than the grim Premier Inn. We found the Mercure luxurious compared to the other hotel for not much more money. Only negative is that my TV went off 4 times throughout the night apparently people use the tv’s as alarm clocks but I think they actually do it for badness. This happened to several of our team so not restricted to my room. Please make sure you switch the tv off at the wall when going to bed. The hotel reception are aware of this problem and said it’s common.

I didn’t like having to leave a £50 deposit when I checked in and paid on arrival for my room. Room was clean and comfortable; nice & quiet at the end of the corridor. I didn’t use the restaurant or hotel amenities. Decaf coffee but no decaf tea on tea tray in room. No plug for bath tub so you can’t have a bath here? Bathroom decor a bit tired. If, like me, you feel the cold bring warm PJs and bed socks as the duvet is more like a sheet and I found the room to be a little chilly. Hotel is ok and I’d stay here again due to location being convenient for the train station and town centre.

Food at restaurant not very good

The lady working in the bar on Friday evening was a credit to the hotel. Night porter was great too when we returned 1030ish from a gig!

I cannot express enough how helpful the staff were, i missed my gig due to horrendous rail services, but the staff went above and beyond to assist me. I'm out of pocket by a huge amount of money due to the late trains

Rubbish pillow (only one) on a hard bed. Breakfast good, unfriendly checkin.

Excellent stay in nice clean room followed by a lovely breakfast.

Frequent traveller in hotels every week and the hotel is convenient. The staff cannot do enough and are very helpful. The pool and sauna are a great boost at the end of the day.
