I would not recommend staying at this hotel. The property is very outdated and appears to be in need of significant updates and maintenance. One of the biggest issues during my stay was that the air conditioning in my room was not working properly, which made the room quite uncomfortable. The staff were consistently rude and seemed annoyed by even the simplest requests. On multiple occasions, I called the front desk for assistance and either received no answer or was hung up on while trying to get help. The hotel advertises room service, but in reality, guests are expected to go down to the pool bar, pick up the food themselves, and carry it back to their rooms. Having to take a tray up 10 floors defeats the purpose of room service altogether. To make matters worse, the elevators were extremely slow, making it frustrating to get around the property. Overall, the lack of customer service, poor communication, outdated facilities, and misleading room service experience made for a very disappointing stay. I would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to others.

Great place for the price! The location was amazing, and the breakfast buffet was so good! Our room had a slight musty odor to it, but really nothing too bad and might have just been because of the proximity to the ocean. Would recommend overall!

This very dated hotel is central so that makes it quite good. The rooms are fine and there are things to do. The food is average and flavourless. The staff seem always unhappy and overall I would say it is fine because of location but quite expensive given how dated and how I felt the service was. They had said I would stay in my room for 2 nights given a tour group I was joining night 2 - yet they yelled at me at the front desk and make me move in a rushed format when I went to confirm. I would not stay here again.

Convenient because close to the airport. But rooms are tiny, and the hotel doesn't seem to care about people shouting and partying late into the night when folks are trying to sleep. Still, not a bad place and the staff are friendly.

We stayed one night but wish we had of booked more! Conveniently located beside the beach with sop many amazing restaurants and activities.

Nice location on waterfront and near the airport. Great breakfast! My room smelled like dirty feet when I arrived but that was easily fixed by opening the door to the ocean. Loved hearing the waves crash outside.

Fantastic breakfast buffet, glorious views from the Junior Suite. Ventilation in the room was poor though - the Aircon was a little underpowered. The beds were huge, but provide little back support. Wonderful location, perfect for both relaxing holidays and hiking holidays. I will return one day.

The staff are very nice and welcoming, unfortunately I found lots hair in the bathroom which I believe it shouldn’t happen. Also the hotel is a bit outdated, but the location is very good.

One night, rather basic room for 4 star place. Bar staff really good, breakfast OK but hurried.

Large clean room, short on electrical outlets but given an extension cord with multiple outlets at front desk which served the purpose. Comfortable beds. View of mountain towards airport and ocean, could hear the planes take off but didn’t impact our sleep much. Great daily room cleaning with friendly staff. Nice large breakfast buffet with basic selections which should cover varying food preferences. Good location, beach, water sports, restaurants and bars, bus stop close by, trails, etc.. overall an older property but very well maintained. I’d definitely stay there again.

Honnêtement cest la pire hôtel que nous sommes allés depuis des années. Aucun savon et séchoir dans la salle-de-bain. Aucune machine à café et tout semble délabrer. Ne vous fiez pas aux photos, cet hotel a clairement besoin d’un rafraîchissement. Par contre, nous avons adoré les alentours, c’est vraiment magnifique et tout se fait à pied.

The room was spotless, a little outdated but the view made up for it! The sounds for the ocean made our night incredible restful.

We stayed at Dom Pedro Madeira during our visit to the island and overall enjoyed it. The location isn’t the most central, so renting a car is definitely helpful. On the days we didn’t have one, we used tour services to get around. Since the hotel isn’t directly in the main hub, some pickups charge a small additional fee (around €25), which isn’t huge but worth noting. The breakfast was good not ultra-luxury level, but solid and satisfying. The room didn’t look exactly like the photos online, which was slightly disappointing. However, the staff were very kind and helpful, and the price reflected good value for what we received. We could still see the island views from the property, and overall it was a pleasant stay. Madeira itself is absolutely worth visiting.
