Lovely, historic hotel. Quiet and calm amidst the beautiful clamor and turbulence of Florence. Our 10 year-old daughter loved having half the family suite to herself. Only two suggestions: 1) the sight of housekeeping trolleys left in hallways is jarring in a 4-star hotel. Isn’t there a housekeeping closet where they can be stored when not in use? 2) with the exception of the lady who greeted us on arrival, the front desk and bell staff was more functional than warm.

Beautiful hotel in quieter area away from crowds but still just a few blocks from most major attractions. My only disappointment is we booked two identical rooms (Deluxe Double or Twin Room, River View) and one was a big bright corner room on the top floor while the other was small and dark and directly above lobby bar and music was loud. Aside from that everything was wonderful.

The hotel is a hidden gem. My favorite part was the bathroom specifically the shower. The water was hot and the pressure was great. The staff was very helpful especially Vanni! They went over and above to answer our questions and make recommendations.

Everything about Hotel Balestri was fantastic. The staff was extremely friendly and recommended places that we should go. The room and all amenities were extremely clean and the location to everything was extremely convenient! We even left a wallet and some jewelry at the hotel and only realized after flying back to the states. The hotel worked closely with us to recover and ship the items back to us. I can’t recommend this hotel enough!

The hotel was wonderful in every way. The location was excellent, the staff could not have been nicer or more attentive, the bar had fantastic cocktails with lots of great snacks served along with them, the breakfast had a good variety and was fresh and plentiful. Would happily stay here again!

Beautiful, clean hotel, a few minute walk from Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio, as well as several delicious restaurants. This beautiful city is very walkable with lovely people and amazing food, don’t miss it!

Impeccable house keeping every day. The rooms were very well sound insulated and peaceful. The breakfast spread was amazing.

Great location and professional staff

The staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful with things to do and around the area. Check-in was very smooth and the staff was very pleasant and friendly in all of our interactions. The hotel is conveniently located in walkable to a few museums and attractions nearby. We really enjoyed our stay.

Clean room. The staff was excellent and the property was a delight. If you are looking for something close to city center this is a bit out of the way. It’s still walkable in any direction but to get to the train station will take you about 20 minutes. Now the great factor about this location is the easy access to Ponte Vecchio, Ufizi gallery and Vivilo’s cafe. The affogato at Vivoli is absolutely to die for. They have various different flavors and types of coffee. If you don’t believe me look it up. You can’t miss it. The hotel is close by to Gustapizza. This place is just as amazing. The entire region is fabulous and you can’t go wrong staying at the Ballestri. I will definitely stay here again. Oh and pay for the balcony room. It over looks the River Arno. You can have morning coffee with a pastry and soak in the views.
