Free upgrade to ocean view was great. Not much communication in English. Missed a lobster lunch. And missed the À la Carte Mexican dinner.

Very nice hotel on the beach. Pools were clean. Staff were friendly. Preferred and enjoyed the premium level and benefits. Food was ok but I’m a picky eater. Lots of choices.

Bathroom too small, screen door in balcony in poor condition, and hard to open or close, but service and food was good.

Pool was great

We had a wonderful stay at the Barceló resort. The atmosphere was nice, quaint, and very quiet, which made it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The grounds were well maintained, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall experience felt peaceful and comfortable. A great choice if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway.

I have been to a few all-inclusive resorts in Mexico. Food: The buffet food was similar to any other all-inclusive buffet. The food was warm and there was always something I enjoyed at every meal. The snack bar isn’t gourmet — burgers and fries are basic — but after a few margaritas it hits the spot. Wings: avoid them. They were cold, dried out, and not worth the effort of ordering. Rooms: The rooms were clean and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. In our first room, the roof started leaking badly over the sink. The staff quickly upgraded us to a higher floor, although that room had a shower that wouldn’t drain properly. I have stayed in far worse places, and I wouldn’t avoid this resort because of the rooms. When we reported the issues, the staff responded urgently and moved us without hesitation. Pool Area: This is where the real problems were. Many guests leave books and resort towels on loungers to reserve them for their entire stay. As other reviews have mentioned, we discovered some loungers were still being “reserved” by guests who had left days before we even arrived. One elderly couple was reserving four loungers for the two of them — two in the sun and two in the shade. The resort has a policy that everything must be removed from loungers at the end of each day, but it was not being enforced at all. One night, a friend and I set an alarm in the middle of the night and executed what we jokingly called “Project Reset.” We removed all belongings (towels, book

People were saving chairs 24hrs a day. They would arrive at 930 and leave at 2. Staff did nothing about it when questioned. So with majority of the chairs taken around the pool and towels out all night it was obvious that cleaning of the pool area was not happening. Our room was 2 floors above the night club that went from 10pm till 2am every night. When asked to be moved to another room we were told 2000 pesos a night would be charged. After it closed the patrons would have a pool party till 3am. No security around to stop it. It was a very disapointing experience. We have stayed here before as well as many times at the barcelo in huatulco, and this was by far the worst experience.

The suite we were in had great ocean views. The food was excellent in the main restaurants. The food at the pool bar was just okay.

The rooms were very clean, the staff was very helpful and spoke some English. Carlos at the concierge desk was amazing!! Very helpful with lining up taxi's for daily touring. and also with getting us ready for departing to the airport. Food was good, the special restaurants were very good. They really stepped it up this year with the desserts! Love that they have the ice cream machine. This is our 5th year staying there, amazing views, we will be back!!
