Our stay at the Comwell Køge Strand was a mixed experience. The breakfast was outstanding with a wide range of fresh and delicious offerings to suit every taste, as well as friendly staff. The dining area is great and location is beautiful. If you have a room that faces seaside, I imagine it would be very nice. However we found our room a bit disappointing. Not only did it face a parking area and petrol station, with a lot of traffic noise and lights on all night that were not possible to block out, there was no aircon or ventilation possible in the room apart from opening the balcony door. On the side of the building where we were first given a room on the ground floor, the heat from the summer sun was intense. So we asked to change rooms to one upstairs as there was no way to sleep in a room that was so hot and stuffy without opening the balcony door. Given that there were signs warning guests about leaving valuables in cars, having an open door to a ground-floor room seemed very unwise, plus outside the front entry area seemed to be a smoking zone. We also learned that there is no elevator to upper floor rooms nor was anyone available to help us carry a heavy suitcase up the stairs. Both of us are slightly disabled and I would not recommend staying at this hotel if stairs pose any issues. The website room descriptions and pictures also do not make clear the difference between the rooms facing the sea and those that don’t. Rooms with a parking area view are very overpriced.
