We arrived and Jacqueline was very nice and we went to our room. The odors were horrible, the carpet was damp and the brown corduroy curtains were stinky and depressing. The outside pool was not open and the indoor pool should be condemned. We cut our feet on the floor from all of the torn up tile. The pool was extremely dark and dirty. There were chunks coming off the pool. The kicker for us were the noisy neighbors with the TV turned up to max all night long, family fighting and children running up and down the hallway. We left a day early. The breakfast was there. Sausages like rubber, hash browns like cardboard, crunchy cardboard, no fruit. I could go on but this totally ruined our vacation. We are still waiting to get a refund from Gary the manager for the last day because the young lady who, cleaned rooms, cooked breakfast and ran the desk, told us she didn't have the authority to refund us but she could move us to another room. I absolutely love Port Elgin and Southampton but will never stay here again. Disappointed and sad 😔

Great quality for the price

This is an older hotel that is in very good condtion. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was as good or better than any other hotel we stayed in 10 days from the states to Canada. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Front desk staff very pleasent.

Jeanine checked me in and she was delightful. Room was really clean. Pool was being used by kids. Outdoor pool wasn’t quite ready but it sure looks great. Truthfully, the worst part was checkout. The manager was checking me out. I was waiting for him to ask me how my stay was so I could tell him how impressed I was with the place for a 2 star hotel…. He never asked how my stay was. He didn’t say much of anything. I don’t think he even said “thank you for staying with us”. Just very unfriendly. It’s a little thing, but check out is just as important as check in. Maybe more as it’s your last impression.

Not so great

The beds and pillows as always were great. Except. We had noisy neighbors. We stayed in room 124. This morning multiple family's were making noise. My daughter and I could not get back to sleep. I like this motel alot. But lately. The place has become more noisy. Especially in the morning.

The breakfast was very well stocked with lots of variety. We were very disappointed to learn that the outdoor pool was out of commission upon check-in, and the indoor pool was very cold! The rooms were also very musty smelling, but we had a patio door that allowed some fresh air to help air it out.

I was up there to take a painting class at the Southampton Arts Centre and forgot my key in class the second night. Staff was great. Thanks for great breakfast and friendly staff

We were pleasantly surprised that the Super 8 motel in Saugeen Shores lived up to its 9 rating. The room was spotless, well decorated and comfortable. The motel was quiet, yet very accessible to a host of amenities and eating options nearby. The indoor and outdoor pools were clean and inviting. The exercise room had a functioning treadmill, exercise bike and universal weight machine, and was clean. The staff was very friendly and the morning breakfast (included in the price) was filling and of good quality. A definite 9 for a very reasonable price.

Staff were friendly and tried to help but they seemed to be operating on a shoestring budget. We had a 5 night stay, longer than average, but room cleaning was only by request and you had to give one day advance notice. Cleaning was very superficial and there seemed to be a pervasive musty smell in the part of the motel we stayed. Never made it to pool. Stayed in accessible room 101...with walk/roll in shower. 1. Needs an anticipation mat. Very slippery is you stand for shower. 2. If you sit for shower...the hand held is too short to get a proper showering.

I didn't eat breakfast. But my daughter and i stay there often. The pillows are good. Plus the beds are comfortable. The rooms are always clean and stocked with soap and towels. .plus the big tvscare nice. The new chrome cast feature is great aswellm
