Excellent property with very professional and friendly staff. Top of the line location.. close to all that old Quebec has to offer.

We had a river view room, but other than that the room was ordinary, not superior plus as advertised when I booked. The hot water went too hot quickly I almost burned myself twice. The closet had no door, the a/c sounded like a plane was passing overhead, you had to get up from the bed to turn off the lights over the bed and break your arm to turn off the reading lights whose switch was behind the headboard. The coffee machine and tea were a nice touch, but you had to go to another floor to get water. The lobby was nice and cozy, as well as the coffee lounge and snacks. Also, one of the elevators was not working, so had to wait a bit during busy times. The location was convenient and the porter and front desk were helpful.

Great staff and wonderful rooms

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is beautiful with a lot of charm and character, beds are comfortable, the staff is amazing, conveniently located with a short walking distance to all the sites, shopping, restaurants (the Italian restaurant at the hotel is very good), quiet, and very clean. There are various teas, coffee, filter water, and hot chocolate for the guests. We honestly did not want to leave and will certainly be back.

the room was not reachable by elevator but by 4 flights of narrow stairs, this should have been mentioned on the website as I have mobility issues, it was a challenge everytime I left the room. Furniture in room is old and battered looking, broken drawer in cupboard by the couch, bed was a mattress on 2 box springs with a headboard, was quite low to the ground, no closet but a pipe from the ceiling where you could hang clothes ( for extended stays not acceptable ). During power outage ( 4 hours ) staff did not bother to check to see if we were okay, nor did they bother to give info ( even a note under the door would have been helpful ) as phones and elevators were not working, nor was there any heat in minus 18 degree weather. My husband ( 66 ) had to walk down 11 flights of stairs to see what was going on and only received a very curt response … crisis management therefore not up to par. Staff in general ( except for the restaurant which was very good ), were very cool, a smile and a bonjour when whenever we came and went would have done wonders. The whole experience just not acceptable for a 4 * plus hotel where we paid close to $5000 for the week.
