The first night we went to maxvells restaurant, nice atmosphere however food wasn’t worth the money we payed. We received complimentary sorbet while waiting. My glass had a lipstick on… mains were okey - nothing special. Dessert was a cheesecake which was clearly pre-made a while ago as the plate had a frost from sitting in a fridge. Again - almost €50 for two courses - you expect higher quality. Our server was Povilas who was nice and friendly. Spa was good. More seats would be nice though. Rooms were spacious and clean In the second night we went to the steak house which was very good. Special duck starter, sharing steak and a dessert was delicious. I just feel sorry we didn’t choose this restaurant both evenings. Would I come back ? Not sure I feel that first evening dinner quality put me off as it was wasted money for sure

I recently had the pleasure of staying here and would highly recommend it. The room was spacious, spotless, and had everything we needed. The little touches added throughout felt really personal and thoughtful. Dinner was one of the highlights of the stay, 10/10. I should have taken photos, but we were too busy enjoying everything. Every course was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and the service throughout was friendly and attentive. Afternoon tea was served in a beautiful room with gorgeous décor. The food was presented thoughtfully and there was a great selection. I’d also mentioned beforehand that I’m vegetarian, and the staff were more than happy to accommodate me, although there were already vegetarian options included in the standard afternoon tea menu. I’d happily stay here again.

I have just returned from a fabulous 'Girls Getaway' in Farnham Estate Spa and Golf Resort. It was perfect from start to finish. The afternoon tea on arrival was pure luxury and set in a beautiful room with amazing staff. The house we were staying in was spotlessly clean, very spacious and packed with goodies for our evening in. The next day we had a walk in the woods which was beautiful and an afternoon in the Spa. The spa is gorgeous and my treatment with Ali was divine. The food that evening in the restaurant was fabulous with very attentive and knowledgeable staff. We all agreed that it's the best 4 star hotel in Ireland that we have ever stayed in.

Have stayed on many occasions here, birthdays, wedding, anniversaries. Our wedding anniversary on this occasion, bottle of prosecco chilled and waiting in room, complimentary dessert after meal in restaurant. Lovely relaxing stay as always, great spa, nó strong smell of chlorine in pool which is a sign of a clean pool, no kids allowed in pool,enjoyable walks around estate, 3 restaurants and bar food available. Ambience and food in award winning restaurant a pure delight and lovely experience as always , wine and food reasonably priced and full of flavour, beef wellington beautiful and the duck starter tasty, Sorbet served between courses and complimentary breads beforehand. Afternoon tea lovely, great selection at breakfast buffet, walk in shower and bath in bathroom, handmade soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash by Irish company supplied. 5 stars. Any where you meet staff in the hotel your met with a smile and a greeting.

I was really disappointed with our recent stay at this hotel having stayed there 16 years ago and been really impressed. Unfortunately the service has really declined. Very long wait times at the bar for a drink and some simple fixes for this that are not being optimised like young untrained staff who were having to hop up on counter tops to reach for bottles at the top of cabinets and/or being unable to slide open the bar display door. It's also not kept clean. We noticed at lunch time chips had been dropped on the floor and went back to the bar 5 hours later and they were still there but had been mashed into the floor due to being walked on repeatedly by staff and guests. We waited 50mins for our dinner in the bar (having only ordered burgers). Staff apologized after realizing our dinner order was forgotten but only after we highlighted this but then took a further 15 minutes to receive food. Most of the staff are young school going teenagers. Dinner in Maxwell's did not reflect the price point. We received our starters before our wine then I found a hair in my steak and when returned to me was reheated and burnt to a crisp and I had lost my appetite at this point too. Breakfast is plentiful and breakfast staff are pleasant however I ordered poached egg from the menu the second morning and this took 40mins to come and when it did was more like two boiled eggs, completely hard. The grounds are beautiful, the bed is extremely comfortable and the complimentary water is a nice bonus. However I could not recommend a stay based on how it's currently run, which is such a shame.
