Hotel is within walking distance to train Station, major bonus if you are looking to continue your travels. Clean, quiet and safe. Would recommend short stay only. Close to Main Street in Catania where you will find the best bar Ill Cantiniere.

Very noisy. No night staff to control noisy customers. Doors also noisy. Very poor neighborhood, dirty about 4 block radius.

Short break to Catania, lovely city worth a visit. Stay at Hotel LA Ville good experience overall, staff friendly, room clean and spacious, breakfast good. Located short walk from the train station and city center. Would stay there again.

The hotel room was large and had a good breakfast. Restaurants were about 5 to 10 minute walk away. Was the on only hotel in a residential area.

Room itself is nice with domed ceiling and huge bathroom, but neighbourhood was a bit sketchy especially when we walked back after dinner. There is no hot water! nowadays what hotel doesn't have hot water?? Thankfully the staff is good, they let us store luggage in another 4 star hotel down the street when the hotel was closed because of lack of reservation.

Horrible neighborhood. I cannot imagine why anyone would stay here when they can have an ocean view at Aci Castello for less money. This neighborhood scared me so much that I stayed inside for New Year's Eve and locked the doors. Not worth the money. To the Hotels Dot Com members: Go someplace else!

Not the best area and not the nicest place, but staff were very helpful and it was great considering the price.

The hotel was ok distance from the train station but not very close to the main attractions. (15min walk through the back streets.) The room was clean, lovely and big, a little gem. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly.

Clean, large hotel Close to the station. We stayed for one night and loved the comfortable large room. We had to catch a train early and the staff even managed to prepare breakfast early for us. Would highly recommend for a short stay.

Although the hotel is close to the train station, it is not easy to find at night; and the taxi driver I hired from the airport took me to the wrong address. It is sort of close to the town center, but because of its location (on a side street that does not appear on city maps), finding one's way out onto a main street is difficult. The staff were only minimally helpful, especially the day clerk who didn't offer me a map and who didn't give clear instructions (his English was minimal); the afternoon clerk was more helpful, and gave me the name of a fairly good restaurant (but getting to it involved walking on dark, back streets). I was a single woman traveling alone, so possibly a couple might find the isolation less daunting. That said, I felt quite safe the two evenings I went out to dinner--walking to the restaurant and back--as the area seems to be mostly residential. The first night I stayed there, the room had no soap; the second night, there was no glass in the bathroom. The hotel was fairly quiet at night, and the rooms were clean and roomy. Breakfast was pretty basic.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. Air conditioning. Wifi. It was like a 4-star hotel in terms of quality. The only downside is that it is right by the bus depot in downtown Catania... a not nice area, and a bit of a hike to get to the sightseeing spots. But convenient if you are heading to the bus or train stations.

Beautiful hotel, really clean and spacious. Hotel staff could not have been any more helpful. Great location, close to bus and train terminals but not a nice area to walk around at night. Would happily recommend this hotel.

Pros: walking distance to train and bus stations for side trips to Taromina and Mt Etna (the reason I chose to stop there two nights), the hotel has a contract with the taxi service providing good rates to the airport, great water pressure, size of the room, in-room safe, helpful staff, breakfast which was 5 euros a day extra but still had the cheeses, meats, danishes, and so forth expected from the breakfast buffets - in fact I could smell the danishes coming down to breakfast each day, colorful neighborhood. A fruit vegetable seller came through the neighborhood on Monday morning with his goods on the back of small truck. I could just imagine his grandfather doing the same thing with a horse or donkey cart. Cons: by day, this working-class neighborhood was fine and I felt safe, by night is a different story. I could have taken a taxi to another neighborhood for dinner, but I just structured my day so I returned to the hotel well fed at dusk. I had a non-smoking room, but I could smell lingering smoke when I walked in the second day, furniture was shabby and the easy chair had dark stains around the bottom of the skirt, and finally, there was a noise that occurred every 6 seconds (I counted) that could be heard all over the hotel. The sound was low but persistent.

We stayed twice in the course of our drive around southern Sicily and thoroughly appreciated the welcoming environment and charming staff. They patiently answered dozens of questions, drew maps, recommended places to eat, directed us to buses, arranged taxis, and generally made our stay a pleasure.
