Room was cleaned and well stocked with furniture and bathroom amenities. Outdoor court yard was always dirty and full of plant/leaf clusters on the ground. Tables were untidy with other guests belongings such as glassware, ash trays used etc. Building is on the older, vintage side but that gives it character and the "feels" of Italy. Great breakfast options, fresh and stocked.

Villa Romeo is an excellent hotel nestled right next to the central station. The property has the old world charm with modern amenities. Loved the patio setting

I booked the hotel as it was near the train station. We arrived late and planned to travel to Taormina the following day. The hotel has very quirky decor but the room was horrid. Wallpaper peeling off walls, bed spread stained and faded, pillows were stained yellow. The shower was hot and powerful but the bathroom was awful. Mouldy tiles/ceiling with lots limescale. The courtyard we had breakfast in was lovely but the food was disappointing. Tinned frankfurters, warm scrambled eggs and not much bread. There were cakes and pastries which were nice and if you ask for coffee, they will make you a cappuccino. Luckily we were only there a night. I wouldn't have wanted to stay for longer!

My room felt like a palace, and the inner courtyard was beautiful and peaceful. It was convenient to the train and bus stop, but a bit far from the center of Catania, and slightly sketchy neighborhood in between. Breakfast was good - many healthy and fresh options.

The staff were lovely and the room was clean.

Great location, close to airport shuttle

The room was very tired and smelt musty along with mold on some of the walls, we shortened our stay as the room smell was not pleasant, the area it is situated in is very run down - Pictures do not tell the story of this hotel

Wifi slow

The staff was nice, location is convenient, but there were mosquitos in the room, we killed 4 of them, but not able to kill the last one and was not able to sleep well.

Staff were great. Hotel has a back door leading to a beautiful garden. Room can use some update. Possibly a new bed. Very basic amenities. Small bottle of shampoo and conditioner and small bar of soap. No facial tissue, cups, coffee, etc. Short walk to the Central Station.

Great place in a primo location. But more special than the location was the Ana ing staff, especially Francesco and Fina. Love them!!!

The room was very clean but basic. The hotel has not undergone any renovations in what appears to be decades.

An outstanding older hotel very close toALL transportation. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and efficient; they go beyond to be helpful. The area around the hotel is run down BUT safe and there is a wonderful Sicilian restaurant just around the corner.

Room had moldy, stale cigarette smoke smell. Carpets ancient and dirty. Wallpaper old and dirty and peeling off the walls. Bathroom door with severe water damage, did not close. Party in a room on the same floor as mine that spilled into the hallway - extremely noisy, lasted a few hours. Property said it had breakfast but did not. Bathroom in good condition. Furniture worn and dirty. Very convenient to transportation but neighborhood wasn’t the best.

Staff very nice and helpful. Windows opening on to the patio would benefit from screens. Immediate location is one of car parts, construction equipment and hardware stores. One good restaurant around the corner otherwise 15-20 min walk to "center". Pool closed, so you need to check about opening schedule.
