I recently stayed at Hotel Atlantic El Tope and overall had a pleasant experience, especially considering the price and location. The hotel is set slightly uphill, which means you get beautiful views over Puerto de la Cruz and even the ocean from certain rooms and the pool area. The walk back up can be a bit tiring, but taxis are cheap and quick if needed. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though a bit dated in terms of decor. Housekeeping was consistent, and I appreciated the balcony space—it really adds to the experience, especially in the evenings. The pool area was one of the highlights. It’s spacious, never felt overcrowded, and offers great views. There’s also a bar nearby, which makes it easy to relax during the day. Food was decent but not exceptional. Breakfast had a good variety, but dinners could feel repetitive after a few days. If you’re staying longer, I’d recommend exploring local restaurants in town for more variety and authentic Canarian food. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay, always willing to assist with directions or general questions. Tips for future travellers: * Request a room with a sea view—it’s worth it. * Be prepared for the uphill walk back to the hotel. * Mix hotel dining with local restaurants for a better food experience. * Great base if you plan to explore northern Tenerife rather than just stay in a resort. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a relaxed stay with great views and good value for money

The rooms are very nice and great view. The feel of lobby and other areas of the hotel are more like an all inclusive. Roof top is spectacular and barely anyone there.

This hotel is definitely not 4* as it claims. I found the people at the reception to be unhelpful and sometimes down right rude. When I got the hotel I discovered to my horror that they are renovating on the floor above me with noise of banging and drilling going on for most of the day, the worse thing was that when I booked the hotel on Expedia nowhere did it say that there are any renovations in progress during my stay. The room itself was nice comfortable and clean but the hotel itself was boring, there was some silly entertainment at night and I found the food to be unimaginative, and repetitive. The saving grace to this trip was the glorious weather and beautiful Tenerife. And I would definitely visit Tenerife again. This hotel might be some people's Cup of tea, mine it was absolutely not and would not stay there again even if was free!!

The room was clean, modern and spacious. Cleaning staff were quick efficient and left the room tidy and clean.

Terrible food

The hotel was excellent for a family holiday. Wonderful food and facilities. Modern, clean and friendly. The walk to the centre of town was short and there was a shop very local for any bits extra you need. An absolutely fabulous place to stay. Highly recommended.

Is a very nice hotel

We had an amazing stay at El Tope, it was just what we wanted. Would love to see some more amenities at the hotel and more activities/events within the hotel itself. The rooftop bar was a highlight which seemed newly built, there were works going on whilst we were there so hopefully even more new stuff to come! Thanks El Tope for a wonderful vacation

After having read a lot of negative reviews we were a little apprehensive about the hotel but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. We were able to check-in an hour and a half early and staff were all very friendly and professional. Room was lovely and everywhere was very clean. Some building work going on but didn’t cause any issues. Plenty of choice at mealtimes and it was always presented beautifully. The rooftop bar is amazing! Bit of a steep hill or steps into town but lots in the area to see and bus stops close by. Really lovely hotel and good value for money.

Pretty standard hotel with nice views of the area surrounding. The food was very basic though and lacked flavour, but at least it had variety. Wish the swimming pool was a bit bigger, but overall it's a nice stay and a good place to relax.

A great stay for my week in Tenerife. Great place to be close to local amenities but I had hired a car so explored the island. Ample sunbeds when I stayed - no need to reserve by towel! When I stayed in late Feb / early March 2023 it was mainly being visited by older German singles and couples who were polite and respectful. Very quiet despite its closeness to the town centre which was ideal for me. A great buffet breakfast each day and lovely staff who were attentive should you need them. Very limited parking on-site but at the time I visited this wasn't a problem and I got one of the 20 or so spots every time. Have a great stay here! I enjoyed it - it was perfect for my needs. The hotel sits on a hill with nice view. Since it's not on the beach and the sea view is partially blocked by other high-rise hotels, that could block the hotel from asking full price (?). However, the area is nice and convenient with beach, restaurants, bus stops and supermarket all withing walking distance. Also, breakfast buffet is top rated with lots of varieties. Will be back next year!
