The room appeared clean but was a bit dusty and didn’t smell particularly fresh. I slept well but awoke with a sore back as the bed was very hard. Bedding was thin and cheap. I opted out of breakfast because when I booked the room, breakfast was a £27 option! No thanks!! The hotel is very well situated, only 5 mins drive from Newton Abbot and close to lovely walk along the river. I was very grateful for the on-site car charger.

Nice place, only an overnight stay. A slight walk from the main road if you're on foot, under 10 mins. No direct transport from Newton Abbot station but if you fancy a 30-minute walk it's not a bad route. On the tip end of River Teign and quite scenic with a nice outdoor garden. Guessing you can take dogs in as they have a dog wash on site :) Restaurant and bar has some good choices.

The main areas have been refurbished and are lovely apart from the TV blasting away all day. ( children’s tv during a quiet breakfast) The bedrooms have not been re-done yet but are clean and ok. The breakfast serving staff were too busy chatting to each other to help. We went in shortly after a coach trip and there was no fresh fruit salad left and no pain au chocolate. No salt and pepper on our table, a dirty mug and very abrupt service, however the food was good. I think with someone in charge of the service this could become a very good hotel, front desk staff were helpful organising taxis for us. We will stay here next time we visit and hope the breakfast service will be better. Overall a good place to stay in a fabulous location, it could be fantastic.

The hotel is in a lovely location. However, our room was incredibly hot and airless. Sleeping proved very difficult and the highway noise was an added challenge.

I only got the emails that the whole place was being renovated after I booked it.

Ok stay, nice estuary room view, quiet and comfortable bed. Good wifi, tasty breakfast

Made little use of facilities as we were out most of the time. Room was rather small & needed artificial light. On arrival the room was unbearably hot & it took some time for the fan to have any effect. In fact we had to keep the fan all night. The coffee from the machine was undrinkable.

We had a large, comfortable room with a small balcony & a Estuary view . The bathroom was small but clean. There ws a shortage of complentory tea & coffee. We only had 2 teabags daily 4 milks.. As we were staying during the heatwave we could certainly have done with a small fridge, & definitely some complimentary water. There was plenty of car parking on site. We enjoyed the choice of breakfast. Overall we had a very good two night stay.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. My wife and I stayed in an apartment, which had a large kitchen with all the amenities you would need. It had a hob, an oven, microwave and fridge, plus a toaster and even a caffatiere. The bedroom, living area and bathroom were a good size and really comfortablex the bar in the hotel had a great decking area with a great view over the river and down towards Teignmouth. We would definitely return,

Nice breakfast, they are doing the place up so the family room we had in North Lodge was quite dated but it served it's purpose for our 2 night stay

Staff were lovely and friendly. Hotel is going through refurbishment and we stayed in a very tired looking room which I suspect will be done up in due course! Breakfast great!

Tired rooms..just grubbybreally and showing age. Main hotel under renovation. WiFi not working (blamed building works) restaurant which may be temporary resembles a staff canteen. Serves a purpose for business stop over and location by the river very nice

A Hotel in a beautiful location and very near shops and supermarkets

Breakfast was very good, room very outdated, no plugs by the bed and 2 single beds put together, and we had a disabled bathroom. I know they are upgrading, but I hope that means the lodges too.

The staff are friendly, the property site is beautiful

Good sized room , quiet area parking on site and room had everything I needed.

We stayed two weekends, 23rd and 30th The staff were very good at their job. When we were staying above incredibly volatile and inebriated guests on the first weekend, it was dealt with quickly. Unfortunately the next night another guest set off the fire alarm at 1am. The second weekend was faultless- thoughtful guests same excellent staff Clientelle interesting, staff incredibly professional and kind. Under refurb, so slightly odd vibe, the price was very good because of it. Close to beautiful countryside, Tors, Buckfast etc Not into pubs but there is one right next door for those who like pub grub and booze- we didnt try it Location secluded yet convenient

Despite the ongoing renovation work, staff made our stay uneventful.
