The friendly staff

We spent two lovely days in Pau and were delighted to be guests in the Hotel Le Roncevaux for that time. It is an older hotel but is nicely upgraded with all modern conveniences. And the location in Pau is perfect for the visitor. The staff was friendly, courteous and made the extra effort to ensure our satisfaction. I recommend the hotel without any hesitation!

Economy stay with zero frills. Premium room was spacious but property is aged and in a bit of disrepair. Shower leaked onto bathroom floor creating a large river and pools of water on an already spongy floor. There is no air conditioning in the rooms but they provide a small fan and the windows fully open. In a heat wave, however, prepare to be a bit stifled. Staff is friendly and multilingual. Note that you cannot check in early so must wait until 3pm but can store your luggage to go eat or explore the city. Hotel is a block and a half away from the funiculaire up from or down to the train station so its location is excellent if you are not picky. Plenty of restaurants and a Monoprix within walking distance.

Lovely positioned hotel in centre. Rooms clean with good shower and towels. Staff lovely.

Staff are very friendly and lovely. They have great parking - book in advance. Great location for central Pau. The hotel is very tired and you don’t need to look too hard in the corners to see dirt and grime.

Good value stay in Pau city centre

Hotel was dated and desperately needs updating. Carpet in room was stained & dirty. Shower fitting was broken. Bed was comfortable. Room needed a good clean & maintenance. The hotel didn't deserve a 3 star rating.

Amazing hotel in the heart of Pau. Very nice and quiet. The staff very kind and helpful. You have nice restaurants and cafes close by. You can do shopping as well at walkable distance. Will definitely stay again.

Room was very clean and staff ever helpful. The room across the hall was much nicer. Larger, sunny, and had a bathtub. I would have asked for it if I knew. Breakfast is a bargain.

Close to the train station. They charge a "resort" fee which is ridiculous because it is nowhere near being a resort. Old building, so lots of dangerous edges to drop off if you are a senior. The personnel were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good.

Nice centric hotel - 7 euros for the parking- the lady in front desk was very polite and she assigned me a parking that the night front desk guy gave to someone else and I ended at the very back and dark area 10 points to the lady and 2 points to the guy
