Nice property, good location and friendly staff

My stay at the Highlander Hotel in Newtonmore was one of the highlights of my trip to Scotland. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always eager to help, making me feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The dining experience was exceptional! Every meal was delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and showcased the warm hospitality Scotland is known for. Nestled in the heart of the breathtaking Scottish Highlands, the hotel is the perfect base for exploring the area. With Cairngorms National Park just minutes away, there are miles of spectacular hiking trails, stunning scenery, and endless opportunities to experience the natural beauty of Scotland. Whether you're looking for adventure, relaxation, or an authentic Highland experience, the Highlander Hotel is a wonderful choice. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning on my next visit to Scotland.

Hotel was very nice. Clean, airy room with comfortable bed and spacious bathroom.

We had a wonderful stay at the Highlander Hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was very good. We chose the half-board option, which included a three-course dinner (starter, main course, and dessert), and the food was good—especially considering the location. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to thank everyone at the Highlander Hotel for their hospitality.

Room was very clean and good value for money. Only two small complaints, There is no drop off box for keys as the reception building is locked until 7.00. I so delayed my start by 40 mins. There isn't enough parking id the rooms are booked up. Overall it is great value, its clean, beds are comfortable and the staff are nice so if you're not needing to leave before 7 then recommended.

This hotel is pretty old and tired. My room was not air conditioned as advised on Expedia. It was small, with the smallest ever TV. The food was average, but since it was not expensive, I did.not have high expectations.

Below standard Not allowed to use microwave No toothpaste or brush- had to ask and got one pair although were couple

Very nice place to stay. Tasty cooked breakfast + cereal bar available. Good level of cleanliness. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Newtonmore overall is a charming place to stay, with the wildcat trail and cat statues. Best if you come with your own car though if aiming to go around as the public transport from Newtonmore is understandably a little sparse!

It was shocking to have rooms with no fans available in the middle of summer ( let alone no air conditioning). We had a fitful night sleep as it was very hot. Simple fans could have helped at least. Terrible property with no common sense.

We recently stayed at the Highlander Hotel in Newtonmore with my girlfriend and had a generally pleasant experience. The hotel is in a very good location, making it a handy base for exploring the surrounding area, and the bus service is excellent, which made getting around straightforward and convenient. The service throughout our stay was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We also felt the hotel offered good value for money, which definitely added to the overall experience. The bar was another positive point, with a good selection on draught, and Staropramen at £5.80 a pint was very competitive compared with other bars in the area. While the stay was enjoyable, there are a few areas where the hotel could be improved to make it feel a little more comfortable and modern. The decor in the hotel and room felt quite tired and could really benefit from an update. It didn’t take away from our stay too much, but a refresh would certainly help improve the overall impression. The room was also quite warm during our visit, so having a fan provided would have made a noticeable difference. Breakfast was fine, but it would be better if it were available until 10:00 am, especially for guests who prefer a slightly later start to the day. Another small improvement would be a key drop-off option for out-of-hours checkout, as I had to go back to the room and leave the key on the table, which wasn’t the most convenient. Room was large and had a well equipped bathroom, although the windows were dirty. Breakfast was underwhelming, I ordered poached eggs on toast, the two eggs were served on one piece of toast. It looked depressing and lacked any style.

Great room with large bed, great shower, works have lived a bath, was plenty of space to accommodate, breakfast was very efficient with friendly staff. Plenty of parking space

The room was clean, comfy bed and good shower. The place in general looked a bit run down. The cooked breakfast was terrible with fatty bacon and sausages with hard skins. The continental breakfast lacked in variety. The staff were very attentive.

Excellent ensuite room, very spacious and well-equipped. Also very clean and very quiet. Plenty of parking. A short walk to the town centre so very convenient for local attractions and amenities.

Really clean hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Lost my phone and everyone went above and beyond to help in the dining room and reception. Nice touches like 4 cups in the family room with enough milk sachets etc for everyone. Lovely location. Very good breakfast.
