Great hotel for this price, very centrally located

Surprisingly unseasonably hot during visit. Understandably there was no Aircon (beautiful old building and not used to such temperatures) but very rude receptionist refused request for a fan. After first night (no sleep) I left and moved to another hotel. They asked my friend (who was staying) why I was leaving, she explained about the fan and heat and they said, of course we have fans and provided one immediately. Shocking service in what I thought was going to be a truly memorable stay in a beautiful hotel. Other receptionists were better, but I was unable to stay in the hotel in the heat. Service at Ibis (replacement hotel I booked in to) was perfect. Real shame. Also tried to persuade us to go to breakfast when it wasnt included in our booking - hard sell implying it was included when wasn't, so beware. Reception unable/ unwanting to give restaurant recommendations - just go outside, there's restaurants everywhere! Unhelpful & rude.

Fabulous location. Very spacious room and everything worked. The staff were polite and helpful.

Breakfasts were generous and fresh. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room and linens were clean. The hotel was just off the main square so super handy to restaurants. Front staff helped me find parking for my rental car. We'd stay here again.

Great price & close to Lille flanders station and walking distance to tourist sites, would stay again. Street quiet close to restaurants

Great location to explore Lille, the staff were welcoming and very helpful. Will definitely stay again. Only downside, but dont let it put you off staying at this lovely hotel, was we went on a very hot day and the rooms were quite warm to sleep in.

Couldn’t stay here due to the heat. No air con in the room and too hot even after being provided with a fan. Room was dated and bathroom small which you’d expect with an older hotel

Lovely hotel. Our second time here & we will definitely be back. Lack of air con in was an issue on this occasion because of the heat. But otherwise can’t fault this hotel. Thoroughly recommended.

Staff really pleasant and helpful. Great location for sight seeing and restaurants and bars. Walls a little on thin side but overall very good stay.

Chouette hôtel en plein cœur de Lille

A very pleasant place to stay within 15 minutes walk of Lille station and in a superb location just two minutes walk from the Grand Place. Makes an ideal base for visiting the city and the preserved retro style works very well and gives a great feel. The room we stayed in was comfortable, tidy and clean and kept so throughout our stay. The same applies to the bathroom which had an easy to use shower. It was pleasantly quiet and the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed three nights and had breakfast at the hotel on the final morning. This consisted of two pieces of baguette and a small croissant & pain au chocolate. Butter & jam were provided & there was also a choice of ham & cheese, fruit & yogurt. The cost was €14 per person & it was very filling. Some extras were available at additional cost. There were several places to eat nearby. Our room also had a phone charger fitting so we didn’t need an adapter plug. Don’t know if that is standard in all rooms. All in all it was a most enjoyable experience and we would definitely stay here again if we visit Lille, which is a laid back, chilled, relaxing city.

Hotel seems old but internal facilities are nice. Room is clean. Just the room is not soundproof.

Thank you for a wonderful experience. The room was perfect and the front desk staff were lovely and helpful. The location can’t be beat.

The room was clean and the staff were wonderful, however the mosquito nets on the windows really didn't work, which is a shame because there were multiple flies in our room and we got bitten a lot. Even in May it was too warm to have the window closed. For a room for three we had three teabags, a couple coffees and a couple milks, and these were not replenished during our three-night stay. We asked for a fresh mug and the staff were helpful in supplying this but it's a shame the room wasn't better provisioned. That said, the rate we paid through Expedia was very good and we brought our own tea and coffee which I'd recommend.
