This hotel is right where you want to be to explore the old town of Rethymno

The Fortezza is a lovely hotel in a great location within the old town. Nice rooms pool, bar area and the the staff where very helpful. I cant fault the place, if you are visiting Rethymnon i cant think of a better place to stay.

We rented a car to travel in Rethymno and we were looking for something in the centre of the town, with car parking area and breakfast. We arrived very late at night and we were very welcomed at the reception of Fortezza Hotel and our room with the view of the hotel swimming pool and the garden was wonderful. Breakfast was great and all the staff so helpful and very nice. Next time we will definitely stay longer there.

Location and staff

Centrally located and walking distance to everything. Super markets across the street. Long walk to unpaid parking. Breakfast average.

Perfect location. In the heart of the historic town but quiet. Very friendly, helpful staff. Nice balconies overlooking the pool.

Location is amazing! Our room was clean and spacious. The pool and breakfast were also great. Wifi in our room was slow, but it seemed better in others parts of the hotel.

Came for wedding at the Fort. It was an enjoyable week. The Fortezza Hotel was a good choice. Loved it. Service help extremely nice and friendly. The hotel was spacious clean and close to everything.

Not an extravagant hotel but clean and friendly with a great location - excellent value for money

Great location, spacious room and bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast had nice variety to it, you can get breakfast packed to go if leaving hotel before assigned breakfast time.

Accommodating staff

The room was ok, but rather expensive. Our balcony was so tiny we had to take turns! This was a real disappointment. The breakfast was good but the coffee (from a machine) was awful. Why don't Greek hotels offer Greek coffee? I appreciated the provision of a small fridge but it was fairly useless as the electricity was off while we were out of the room so nothing got cold.

Lovely hotel right in the heart of Old Town but away from the bars. Parking was a challenge but worth the effort.

Nice hotel and staff. Everything in the room is more than adequate but not outstanding. A kettle would be nice. Breakfast good and plenty. Communal areas including pool are lovely. Position of hotel on edge of old town so very convenient.

Lovely hotel, comfortable, clean and recently updated bathroom, efficient air conditioning, good wireless connection, friendly staff, good breakfast buffet, lovely looking pool area (we didn't get a chance to use it but it looked like it would have been great, if we had had time), close to the main tourist attractions (the old town, the fortress, etc). Parking available for 9€ at the time of this review.
