A nice hotel , with friendly staff . The room was a little disappointing, there were no sockets by the bed , the hot water for the bath wasn’t hot , but was boiling in the sink . We had a humming noise which kept us awake at night, but the staff were helpful , and we managed to sort it out by our 2nd night . Only because the girl at reception slipped up and said they knew of it , and it was to do with the card you insert for electricity to the room ( room 307 ) .Anyway they did refund our money for the breakfasts for both mornings as a gesture of goodwill, after my partner prompted them . The breakfasts were ok if a little overcooked . The spa was lovely and relaxing after our 13 mile walk along the canal , it’s £10 for the 1st hour and £5 for an additional hour . It’s a nice easy walk into town less than 10 mins .

Review for The Wild Pheasant Hotel & Spa – Saturday 6th May 2026 We had a wonderful stay at the Wild Pheasant Hotel & Spa on Saturday 6th May and I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the standard of cleanliness really stood out. Our room was spotless, and the same high standard continued throughout the entire hotel – everything felt fresh, well-maintained, and beautifully presented. The breakfast was absolutely AMAZING! The selection was excellent, everything was cooked to perfection, and the quality of the ingredients really shone through. It was one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had in a long time. However, what really made our stay special was Mel on reception. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and looked after. Mel is the friendliest, most helpful person you could hope to meet – she was genuinely lovely to chat with and gave us brilliant recommendations of places to visit in the area. Her warmth and professionalism made a big difference to our experience. She is a real credit to the hotel and the whole team. We left feeling relaxed, well-rested, and very well looked after. Thank you Wild Pheasant – we’ll definitely be back! Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We booked a room with an accessible bathroom for two nights. There was no shower curtain when we arrived and we were told that ours was sent out for cleaning. Same story the second night and only offered us extra bath rugs to help sop up the excess water from the bathroom floor. They did not offer to allow us to shower in the hotel spa, but agreed only after we asked. There were hundreds of dead bugs on the window sill, which the housekeeper came up to remove. In the middle of the room there was a hole in the carpet. This was a very expensive hotel and spa that fell far below expectations and not worth the cost in our opinion.

The room had a couple of cleanliness issues, also looking out of our room window there was a great big container not great. Also breakfast was a bit of a let down, the size of my husband's full Welsh breakfast was smaller the 2nd morning, loads of mushrooms,2 halves of tomatoe on 2nd breakfast about 4 bits of mushrooms and 1 halves of tomato

We didn't use the Spa or have any meals there so we can't comment on that. But the welcome at check-in was great and the room was excellent. We did have a drink in the bar where the service was excellent and very friendly. Overall we had a lovely stay.

The room was okay. Though to be fair clean. The beds were a tad uncomfortable. The bed had a ridge at the side so probably needs a new matress. The pillars were cheap. One was too low and two were too high. The breakfast was of a reasonable standard. Though I doubt whether the sausages were Welsh sausages. Probably cheap sausages from wholesale suppliers. I used to make sausages and these definately werent home made. The buffet was very average. The bread was cheap commercial bread. The yogurts were full of ultra processed rubbish. Someone needs to take control of this aspect of the experience. On the positive side the location and the Staff were very pleasant. Not sure whether I would be back in a hurry.

Room was ok. Small double bed. No headboard, just the wall behind the bed. No hot water in peak times. No black out curtains at all. Lighting very dim in the room so impossible to put make up on anywhere other than the bathroom.

Am giving yhis a very low rateing of 2 stars. I payed £130 for a room breakfast and use of pool. Put on arrival i got told pool and sauna is not included to which i had tp pay exter £10 each. The pool and the spa was cold The steam room stayed on for 5min then went off for 10min as it was on a timer we then had to pay extra for breakfast This is not clealy showing on there site as you pay for just room only. when i booked myself in at the desk the afternoon staff at the desk were very helpful. The next mornin i went down to the deck To be stud around for 10min as no staff were on the desk. I then came back down to hand my key in. Myself and 2 other customers was stud around again for 10min as no staff. But some good points the Rooms were clean and bed was really comfortable. I will not be staying at that hotel again as it miss leadingthat you have to pay extra for breakfast, the use of the pool and towels.

The only downfall I found was there wasn't enough plug sockets, one by each side of the bed would help a lot. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay.

Really happy with hotel. I was surprised that we had to pay £10 each for the spa, because last time it was included in the price. Evening meal was really nice. Breakfast wasn’t as good. Would definitely stay again though

Unfortunately if you book a room through anyone other than the hotel then the spa facilities cost extra and the availability of the sessions in the spa are limited to 12 people at a time and are usually booked days in advance. To be charged extra for the spa after booking into a hotel advertised as hotel and spa, I was quite shocked. They will also charge extra for a towel and significantly extra for a robe. The rooms aren’t services unless requested, which we didn’t read until our second evening after wondering why the room hadn’t been serviced. If you wanted extra coffee and tea, it is an additional £5 per tray… the rooms are cramped in tightly and there is no telephone in the room so if you have any queries, then you have to walk a long way to find help. Such a shame as the location was great and the lady on the reception was very friendly but it is way too expensive for what you get here, I would advise to look elsewhere.
