Great location, and the Dee Valley Suite was spacious and genuinely private, exactly what you’d want. There’s a hot tub in the room, but my advice would be to check it’s working on arrival. Ours needed a filter change and was out of action, which was a real disappointment. To their credit, management did refund a portion of the cost, which was appreciated. The main observation from our stay was the noticeable gap in service standards between the management and the rest of the staff. The managers were communicative, helpful, and professional. The reception experience was a different story, we didn’t feel particularly welcome, and the staff seemed uncertain and short on information. It’s a small thing, but how you’re greeted sets the tone for everything that follows. It doesn’t take a lot to smile. It’s pretty much the ABC of customer facing roles. The restaurant and spa were highlights though, with genuinely helpful staff throughout and good food. There’s clearly a good little retreat here, but consistency across the team would make a significant difference to the overall experience.

Stayed here for one night as a midway stop on a road trip and it was exactly what we needed. Check-in was quick and hassle-free, which made a big difference after a long drive. The hotel is dog-friendly, and unlike many other places, there was no extra charge for bringing our dog. The staff were genuinely lovely and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel itself looks great and has a really relaxing atmosphere. We also made use of the spa, which was a perfect way to recharge before getting back on the road. The price was better than most other hotels on our route and included spa access, felt like excellent value for money. Overall, a really pleasant stay and would happily stop here again.

Lovely stay, the night before a canoe trip. All staff were really friendly and the lady on reception went the extra mile, showing us pics on her phone of the aqueduct we were going to, assuring us the views are amazing, she was right. Had some bargain purchases from the cabinet too. Food was really good, no need to go out. The bar was really quiet but we were happy to have a quiet evening.

We stayed one night with breakfast: everything was great! We also went to a spa and had spa treatments: the treatment was amazing; the spa is rather small, but very nice as well! The only issue I had was the booking of complimentary spa access that can only be done via phone or email - unnecessary steps when hotel booking is available online. The location is great, plenty to explore around!

Gorgeous spa hotel, staff so accommodating especially Karen in the restaurant, very professional yet personal service. Food really well cooked compliments to the chef, not sure the duck with lime is for me but all down to personal taste. Yet the duck was perfectly cooked. Wine menu very pleasing can recommend the Australian chardonnay. Spa treatment’s book out fast here feel another couple of staff to cater for this would beneficial to the hotel. All in all a really good experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
