Clean room , staff in hotel good, staff in montanha restaurant terrible

Great breakfast and outstanding view from our room over Funchal.

The hotel was clean with great amenities and a wonderful daily breakfast with many options. The staff was lovely and helpful. There was construction going on at the time so that was a bit noisy, but was not a hindrance. I would stay there again.

Amazing view from the room!

Pros: Clean, polite & helpful staff especially the lovely lady on reception who is very helpful,wonderful views from my sea view room, good sized room, overall good value for money. Cons: the hotel restaurant is very expensive & the food quality average. Far from the centre of Funchal but a shuttle bus provided & there is a public bus stop outside the hotel entrance which takes you into Funchal. There are no restaurants or shops in the local vicinity you can walk to.

Lovely old fashioned hotel service. Rooms cleaned daily, excellent restaurant that gave huge portions. Most of all I loved my sea view

It was a short visit. Therefore, i did not get to use all facilities, like, the 'swimming pool'. Staff were very helpful at the cafetaria and reception. They spoke english. I will surely recommend.

Friendly and helpful staff

We had a bay view room in the new block and it was lovely. Beautiful room with stunning views.

Spectacular views. Disadvantage- distance from main town

The staff was excellent especially Luis!, Thelma and Veronica at the front desk . Water in the room is the only suggestion and perhaps a few more shuttle times during the day if guests request.

We enjoyed staying here very much. The hotel has a gorgeous view over the ocean and Funchal. There is an amazing terrace with garden and pool which was fantastic. The staff was super friendly. The restaurant food options are limited for vegetarians but the salads, fish and pasta were great. Only downside was that there is no gym, toiletry products are limited (shampoo and shower gel in one; no conditioner) and the hotel is located on a little street so you can hear an occasional car or bike driving past. We had their newly renovated rooms which were very comfortable. Super comfortable bed. All over wonderful stay!

Very comfortable hotel with beautiful view. The hotel has a rooftop pool and bar with breathtaking scenery. We stayed for 7 days and will return. It was very convenient - you can either take the hotel’s free shuttle bus to Town centre and back, or take any other buses right in front of the hotel. Food was good- hot and continental breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausages and mushroom, ham, salads, cakes, juices variety of choices. Only problem for me was that the coffee was not so good - not hot enough. The restaurant next to the hotel serves local cuisine which was very good and inexpensive. We had dinner several nights there, enjoyed the food and the service. Bed was comfortable, shower was good. Room was very clean and strong WiFi most of the time. Overall it’s an excellent hotel.

Good value for money. About 10 minutes drive from Funchal, they also offer a free shuttle. Breakfast had a excellent variety. Bed was two wins pushed together which was the only let down as you had to sleep on separate sides.
