I was in love with this hotel the first time and subsequently stayed 2 more times for a total of 4 nights. My first room was a corner Japanese style room with lake view. I haven’t seen a more fully staffed hotel, it even has 2 parking staff directing traffic for 30 lots. The hotel has facilities like onsen, laundry, and a convenience store. My favorite is the amenities counter which is practically a buffet with things that I’ve never seen before at hotels, including cool wipes, salt tablets, shoe fresheners and toe pads. Only gripe is it is not near the station so it’s a 10 minute bus ride and 5 min walk.

I speak Japanese and so did not rely on internet advice and discovered many shops and food and local information. I was on business but would like to return for a holiday as it has lots to offer without the crowds. Only bad point is matsue has a taxi shortage in the morning and evenings due to cummuter rush.

Everything was ok, except that the size of the room was very small. The pictures on the website is a bit misleading.

Great lakefront hotel with excellent service. Room was spacious with a lake view. They will hold your luggage even after checkout, which was handy for me to be able to visit sites closeby, such as Matsue Castle which is only a ten minute walk north.

I had a great stay at Matsue New Urban Hotel. The location was convenient and I really liked their systems in place for the amenities in the lobby. In addition, the hotel room looked brilliant and the staff were very kind.

Great location in Shinjiko Onsen area and great views over the lake. Really convenient for evening walks by the lake to enjoy the sunset from the prefectural art museum.

Amenities 5 star with many varieties of items. Breakfast is delicious and room is newly renovated.

For international travelers who are not used to Japanese hotel accommodations outside the major tourist centers of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, you may find the basic amenities and older construction to be somewhat underwhelming, but as a base for tourism in Matsue city proper, the central location is quite beneficial, being only an 8 minute walk from Matsue Castle. I would caution that the hotel is somewhat distant from the main Matsue Station (JR trains), requiring a bus ride or taxi (or a ~25 minute walk), which can be daunting for those who do not speak Japanese.

Convenient location and within walking distance to major tourist attractions & dining area. Property is a bit rundown. Room space is barely sufficient. The public onsen at the top floor is not attractive and brings "outsiders" to the hotel who crowd the bath area and the elevators. Room rate is a bit high considering the city the hotel situated. There is an overnight parking fee, however, the front desk is nice to allow me to park the car beyond the checkout time till 1pm.

Even by Japanese standards, the rooms were small. We reserved two rooms for our family, and the staff would not accommodate us to have the rooms on the same floor. Great location: on the lake and next door to a shrine; a bathhouse (onsen) on the 3rd floor; and a convenience store reachable through the annex lobby. However, overall we were disappointed with the accommodations and did not spend a sufficiently restful night there. Parking was also limited, and we didn't appreciate the requirement that we leave our car key with the front desk (presumably, so they could move cars around, as necessary.)

駅から遠いですが、送迎もしてくれて快適でした。朝食も美味しいかったです。

スタッフさんが丁寧で、朝食会場が宍道湖を見渡せる9階で口コミで書かれていたように、一品一品のクオリティが高く、パンの種類も多く、地元の料理もそろえられて美味しかったです。 リーズナブルで立地もよく、温泉があるのが高評価！ 残念だった事は、冷蔵庫の効きが悪く(冷えはしない、常温？)連泊するのでなんとかならないかフロントへ連絡。 常温のものを冷やすタイプの冷蔵庫ではなく、温度をキープするタイプとの事、理解はしたが、ウェルカムドリンクでいただいたお茶をそのまま入れたが、やはり常温並の温度に。これは故障しているのではないかと疑う状態でした。 フロントで預かって冷やしましょうか？と丁寧な対応でしたが、わざわざ何度も行くのも面倒なのでお断りしましたが、これから夏になるので、あのままだとまた同じクレームが入ると思うので、チェックをお願いしたいと思いました。 この冷蔵庫の問題以外は、大満足です。

部屋は清潔で、フロント係も問い合わせに丁寧に対応してもらえました。 泊まった部屋にもよるかと思いますが、洗面台が小さめでした。気になったのはそれくらいで、とても気持ち良く泊まれました。ありがとうございました。

綺麗でリーズナブル、大浴場もあって良かった。

スタッフの方の声かけがとてもよかったです。 大浴場が別館なので、本館からの移動は少し肌寒いので、服で調整したほうがいいと思いますが、温泉は気持ちよかったです。

サラリーマン時代からの定宿です。 宍道湖を眺められる清潔な部屋、温泉♨️が、とてもお気に入りです。
