For an 8-day stay in Barcelona, choosing the right “home base” was one of the most important decisions we made—and Hotel & Spa Villa Olímpic@ Suites (ZT Hotel Villa Olímpica Suites) turned out to be a very practical and well-balanced choice for our trip.
We needed a place that felt well-connected but not overwhelming—close enough to the main sights, but far enough from the busiest tourist chaos to actually relax after long days of walking.
Located on the edge of the Poblenou district, the hotel sits in a really interesting spot. It feels like a transition zone between a modern urban neighborhood and a more local, residential area, which we actually appreciated during a longer stay.
For us, the biggest advantage was location. We were roughly within a 20-minute walk of both the city center in one direction and the beaches in the other, which made it very easy to plan flexible days without relying too much on transport.
Another key factor was space. After long days of exploring (often 25,000–30,000 steps), having a suite rather than a standard hotel room made a big difference. It gave us enough room to properly unwind, which is especially important for a longer family stay.
The hotel also offers a pool and gym. The pool area is a nice extra for downtime, and our daughter also used the gym once during our stay.
