We booked this hotel expecting 5 Star treatment. We arranged trsfr from ferry to hotel they sent a very nice man in a tiny Fiat for 2 people and luggage. I sat with a suitcase on my lap one next to me and myself holding the hatchback closed cause our luggage didn't fit. After arriving we then climbed 77 stairs tired and exhausted from the travel. For the most part staff was friendly and informative. After booking a Superior room, as we saw in pics with unobstructed views we got a small patio with a block wall with a bistro table with low chairs which showed us a view or the sky if you sat. Ants galore and dead trees planted in planters. The bathroom shower was as small as a linen closet while washing you constantly banged your arms as you were drowned by waterfall shower. The space between shower and door was moldy and dirty. The makeup mirror was falling off wall and didnt illuminate. The dining left much to be desired. The pool was nice but took a very long time for the drink service and jetted seats in pool didnt work. We rented a scooter and drove it back to hotel thinking we could park outside, they put us in their parking area (shoved between the fence and a generator ) and charged us 30 Euro not disclosed. We tried their complimentary spa area, being complimentary you got self service. The day we checked out we asked for a taxi they said they couldn't get us one so we dragged luggage all the way to the port. View was impressive but not worth the extra money.

Very nice older hotel on the coast. A lot of details lack the upgrades necessary to consider them charming while being useful. The service was great for meals and luggage but the concierge was not helpful unless questioned repeatedly. For example, with every stay you receive a complimentary 45 minute spa session. This was not communicated to us at check in but thankfully we read the website a day later to book our session. Not exactly the 5 star service and accommodation you’d expect but we enjoyed ourselves and had ample space to relax.

One of a kind property; secluded with five star service and staff is helpful and kind. Be ready to climb stairs and walk a bit. Perfect honeymoon oasis.

An exceptional quality resort with a magnificent view of the Mediterranean and the convenience of walking location to the center and trails. Staff are expert hoteliers and will treat you royally. Quality of breakfast and dinners are exceptional. In-house parking is a bonus. One of the best in Amalfi.

This is definitely NOT a 5 star resort. Maybe in the past, but the property grounds are not really kept up with very well and the room was pretty dirty. We arrived to find clumps of hair all over our floors, like they mopped but didn't vacuum first. The shower was gross and moldy, which I assume is why they provide flip flops. Shower was also VERY small and it was hard to even move my arms to wash. They charge extra for everything, and only provide one complimentary bottle of water for the first day of your stay. They have ant problems so you will find traps everywhere and a few in your bed. Wanted to get a drink at the pool but no one was to be found. We walked down all the stairs instead of taking the cable car to go get dinner to find that the gate was closed and locked and we couldn't get out. They do have parking, but its a very small section next to the check in desk so you will not really have access to your car. We ended up taking the bus around. The only saving grace for this place was the views of the coast. We had lounge chairs on a terrace outside of our room that we spent most of our time in because theres no where to really sit in the room. There was also a beach club close to the hotel where we got access to chairs and towels from the hotel. Cheaper than Positano, but at what cost?

We booked this hotel for 5 nights after seeing reviews online thinking it would be a luxury hotel. The property is very tired, sometimes our A/C and power were not working, elevator not working and there are a lot of stairs. We booked our 90 mins at the lemon spa, the steam room was not operable, and it was basically just a small sauna and shower so we did not stay. The valet staff would be the best service that we would mention, both very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet in the morning is ok. The bed in our unit was super comfy and the views were spectacular, they have really good cocktails as well. Definitely within walking distance to many great spots but be prepared for some stairs. Overall we would rate this hotel as good compared to some of the others we’ve stayed at in Italy.

This was an extraordinary experience: from the moment we were welcomed by staff, the journey with the trolley up the mountain to the reception of the hotel, the welcome drinks, the view from our room, the amazing dinner, and always friendly staff. The special garden and the lemon trees, an excellent destination. Highly recommended!

Charming hotel with a really nice staff. Beautiful antique living room, amazing views of the sea, great lunch and dinner offerings, clean rooms, and nice gardens throughout. Cons: The food and drinks were really overpriced. 20 Euros for a Jack and Coke or lemon spritz in Maiori is ridiculous. The breakfast offering needs work. Beware of the amount of stairs and climb for your stay. Please prepare to climb 3 stories every time in addition to the 2 lifts. As a note to HBSL, for the 4th floor center balcony…maybe build a half wall between the balcony for some privacy and exclusion.

I never write reviews unless its really good or awful. This place was awful. Do not go here. We are writing this only because we requested a partial refund and it was denied. It looks great from photos, but there are no signs to look for entry. The Room with the Hot-Tub had ants everywhere and spiders, and the alcohol in the mini fridge was in-fact drunk. When they upgraded to switch rooms, we saw that the same alcohol drink was full versus the one in the first room which was half full. Then we closed the door, it locked us out, and instead of waiting for hours to get back in- we left the hotel entirely and left about 400.00 worth of flowers in the room. I requested a refund by email partially since we stayed 1 of 2 nights were denied. Still ants in new room. They tried but it was a failure, and at least a partial refund would be suitable.
