Where to begin?!!
This was my second stay at the Pelirocco, so I was prepared. Also, I'm an alternative type person with an artistic background, so I am the perfect client for this strange hospitality Art project.
My fiancée does not have that background... and yet SHE LOVED our stay.
The Pelirocco is Art performance. It truly is. It is a temple to DIY ingenuity, ecclectism, creativity and assumed artsy kitsch.
Each room has its very own unique theme.
I stayed in the 4th floor Cloud Room, in 2014. It has changed to a Jungle room.
This time, we chose the Rebel-Rebel room, a David Bowie-themed room. It was like being in DB album sleeve. The entrance decor is exactly that of the Ziggy Stardust album cover. There were vinyls and a turntable (we used both), Bowie-like excentric costumes, wigs and boots for cosplay or kinky s*x, a very VERY comfy king size bed, and a SPA!
YES. A Spa!
This was a dreamroom for my partner who loves Bowie. And jacuzzis.
The room was spacious, well furnished, and superbly artistically decorated.
The whole hotel is art.
Visiting the corridors is like a kitsch punk-dadaïst exposition.
The full english breakfasts were plentiful. The staff extremely friendly and very helpful to point the great places to drink and eat in Brighton. The hotel itself has great beer and cocktail selection.
All in all WE LOVED our stay at The Pelirocco, and we will go there again whenever we go back to Brighton.
