No air conditioning but they have fans. Slight random bangs from outside that you get used to.

Needs a bit of upkeep

Breakfast was limited, filter coffee only. Bathroom window just had a net curtain and was overlooked so didn’t use shower

Classic UK hotel accommodations. Great breakfast and lovely property. If ever in the area again will definitely stay

The property is an older one, which has its charm but disatvantages. Near the hotel is a busy pub, our room was just above it. The rooms could be better maintained. Buy in general we were satisfied with our stay.

This hotel worked for our short 3 day stay. The staff was great and very friendly. The room was in good shape and as described. I filtered my hotel search to include AC so beware it doesn’t have AC or a working elevator. The front desk and owner told us it was getting fixed the next day after we checked. It was not so FYI. We didn’t take advantage of that in house breakfast. We just went to the bakery across the street. I wound close by saying this is a good hotel not great.

My room 66 was at the top of 3/4 flights of stairs, the lift was only used for luggage. The room was hot,only a fan and small window.The weather was usually hot on 17 jul ,but due to roof gully no wind blows into room .If air con is your thing dont stay here..the shower had mildew stains around the join to the wall ,and could do with a chemical treatment. The owner said he was renovating, but this could be done now.Breakfast was well cooked, excellent bacon, No fresh bread rolls or fruit or cheese, only sliced bread for toast.For £120 a night I expected better. The reception lady was welcoming and helpful. The hotel is in a good central position for visiting the town and has an old world charm which was lovely. I would stay again but in a renovated room with air con or on a winter break

The beds were really uncomfortable, we barely slept. The location is great, the staff is helpful, the breakfast is good, maybe we had the wrong bedroom with uncomfortable beds.

No AC so couldn’t close windows and very noisy from weekend parties on the street. Great breakfast but building not in good condition.

Good location for relaxing stay before jumping on a cruise.

Just know that this place does not have a/c and the rooms are not updated. The elevators weren’t working which was not a problem for me but if I was traveling with my grandma it would be a problem.

Has to navigate multiple sets of stairs. The lift was not working, but our room was not accessible by lift. Shower was a bit slippery and had no grab bars. It was a very old hotel and the attabhed bar was quaint and quirky. was

A lot of noise from the muti storey car park opposite our room from 5am onwards which kept waking us up

Quaint hotel with old world charm. Rooms were clean with all amenities. The shower in a big soaker tub gave a bit of a challenge to us who have arthritic hips but worked well. Appreciated the added air conditioner to our room as it was very hot days while we visited. Enjoyed the "guest" bar at the front of the hotel...the full and continental breakfast feast was delicious and the staff treated us like family. Wonderful experience.!

This hotel is fine. Clean, large room. The bathroom floor was squishy in places. The breakfast was mediocre.

Good location...staff friendly at check in. Elevator/lift broken so we had to walk upstairs. Not a big deal. However the staff used the same elevator to bring our bags up. Room was about 40 degrees Celcius. One window opened 6 inches. The other bolted down. Springs sticking out of bed. Mold in shower and outside. Tiles broken off. Paint peeling. Hardly slept because of the heat. Even though we had a fan. Tried to get ice to have cold drinks to cool down. The bar would only give us the equivalent of a glass of ice. Next time i would rent a car and park in a parking lot before i stayed here again. Note-we stay in hotels around the world. Some great. Some not. This one ranks up there for bow bad it was. No neat. No elevator. Dirty and run down.
