Interesting old chateau, a little tired in places but worth a visit. Restaurant was closed on the day but there are options in La Souterraine which is not far away.

The hotel is in a beautiful and grand building in a delightful countryside setting. The rooms and public areas are beautifully furnished and were in good order. The Top floor room we had was very nice with a view of the countryside. The Large bed was comfortable and the open bathroom with a roll-top bath was beautiful. The service was efficient but not the warmest. We were well looked after but staff felt somewhat distant and service at dinner and breakfast could have been warmer and more welcoming. The food itself was tasty yet I wouldn’t characterise the hotel as a gourmet destination. There was nothing wrong with the food but at the same time we were not wowed by it. The breakfast buffet was adequate but quite unimaginative and corporate. The only main complaint was that there was an issues with hot water at the property. We tried to run a bath in the evening but the hot water had ran out. There was also no hot water in the morning. When we mentioned the issue on checkout, an apology was offered but nothing else. I would have expected some sort of a gesture to recognise the inconvenience since one really should be able to have hot water in a hotel of this quality. Overall, we enjoyed our one night stay and the hotel served its purpose. However, we would not be in a hurry to return because of the few issues noted above.

Amazing food, some of the best we had in our tour of France. Quiet grounds, cozy rooms. Nice as a stop-off when traveling to/from Paris

This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel. As you drive up the Chateau really takes your breath away. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and has a pool, tennis courts and a forest nature walk. We had breakfast but didn’t have dinner this time as wanted to go into town about 3 miles away but ate here last time and it was beautiful and very elegantly presented. We had a lake view room which was very spacious and comfortable with a lovely ensuite bathroom. Last time we had a country view which was nice too. We will definitely be back

We have stayed at this hotel before and sadly the standards have slipped since our last stay. There was no shampoo or shower hat in the bathroom and there were dead flies and an empty bottle top under the bath. On the plus side it is a lovely location, the staff are super nice and the bed is very comfortable but I don't think we will be returning.

The grounds are beautiful; the rooms are lovely; and the place is worth staying in if you get a good deal. That being said, we had a terrible dinner in the restaurant -- the service there was fine; it was the food that was really awful. Everything seemed to be room temperature and flavorless. The fish was some of the worst I've ever had. The lemon tart was undercooked, so much that you could still taste the yolk overtly. Whatever you do, skip dining here, and go into the little neighboring town; I promise you'll be better off. The thing that really impacted our stay for the negative was our checkout experience. Upon reviewing the bill, we saw that we had been charged for breakfast even though the woman who checked us in the night before told us we had booked a room with breakfast included. She said so specifically. As I asked about this -- in the middle of discussing it in fact -- the woman swiped my credit card and ran the bill!!! While we were still talking it over! She did not apologize that the woman yesterday had told us the wrong thing; she only said that one does not get breakfast when booking through Hotels.com. I suggested she make sure the rest of the staff knows that, so they don't misinform more guests upon check-in. After the terrible dinner we definitely would not have spent nearly 30 Euro on cereal, bad croissants, and a cup of yogurt. Terrible, terrible, terrible. They really should have adjusted the bill. Instead, they get a terrible review.

Beautiful, impressive hotel. Receptionists were great and very helpful. Room was very large and a lovely balance of old world chateau with modern twist. Only negative was breakfast. Out of bacon and had to ask for cutlery and get place settings from other tables.

Lovely place from which explore the "Creuse" area. Very fine cuisine, although a bit rich for everyday dining.

The chateau is located outside the village of Noth in truely stunning countryside. It was so beautiful and peaceful at night. The rooms are beautifully decorated and so comfortable. The staff were brilliant, so friendly and knowledgable about everything from local walks to the drinks in the bar. Eating here on at least one night is a must! The food is heavenly and priced really well for the quality in my opinion...their chef deserves a michelin star!

Perfect place for a weekend getaway or extended stay; very quiet! The staff is both accommodating and attentive. Dinner preparations are comparable to Michelin standards; wine list is good, too. Our third stay at this quality property. A convenient stop on travel from Paris to South France.
