Excellent!

We walked into our suite and someone was laying in bed. Got reassigned a different room. They dont want you to have reservations at the 2 restaurants, they rather you do buffet. When they run out of food at buffet they do not restock- even when you ask.. dont let them sell you all inclusive vip as you still have things to pay for. Pool area is super nice and clean. Drinks are great. Beach area is nice as well. We did like the activities they had through out the day. Kept it interesting for kids of all ages. Taco night was excellent.

This hotel is so good. Staffs, foods, room, service, beach, show, pool, everything was good.

Visited Melia for a week this month. Had a wonderful time with our family and 3 young boys (age range 3-7). We loved the smaller size of the resort. The staff and service was excellent. I felt that they were so kind and did their work with joy, despite putting in long hours serving others. The food was good. Nothing extraordinary but it was still enjoyed. Only suggestion was to have greater variability from one night to the next. Overall though, it was very good. Loved the beach. Lots of good memories in the water and at the kids water park. Would definitely recommend.

Pros: Nice hotel with super friendly staff. The restaurants requiring reservations had amazing food. The water park was a big plus . I really liked that it wasn’t one of these extremely large resorts where time is consumed getting to the different areas, this is just perfect. Plenty of beach and pool chairs at any time of the day. Cons: The buffet food leaves a lot to be desired. There aren’t many options for kids. The drinks could be bette.

We just go home from a 5 day stay. We had upgraded our room before our stay since a discounted price was offered. What came with that was a concierge service, upgraded room and access to all 3 restaurants. Initially it seemed like a great added service. We were told we would have our own check in /out special services, which was only provided after. 20 minutes of waiting in line. Room ended up not having much of an upgraded look to it at all. Honestly for the hotel being recently renovated, the room was lack luster , bathroom had a rusty faucet and the shower area was very dark. Italian restaurant is hands down the best one there. Limited options at the other 2. If you do not upgrade to the level experience you then only have 2 options, 1 of which you need a reservation and they are only open at night. Most of the staff were very friendly. Lobby bartender Fernando was amazing. Antonio who works as the activity staff was a blast. All that being said they did recently change from being a time share resort to an all-inclusive resort. I feel this a big change for the staff and the current time share holders. They do also offer day passes at this resort as well to give a perspective of the different options available here . Kids water park was the best. Things to keeps in mind if visiting : They have no TV’s around the hotel(lobby bar or outside bar). If you enjoy watching sports this may hinder your decision to stay here. The masters were on and we had to use our phone.

Building out dated

This hotel offers many positive aspects, including spacious rooms and an ocean view I would rate a 7 out of 10. The pool and water park are excellent for children. Staff were consistently polite and courteous. However, the overall rating is three stars due to the subpar quality and taste of the food. The buffet selection is limited, and improvements are needed in this area. While the Casa Nostra restaurant was enjoyable, requiring reservations limits accessibility.

This was an amazing experience for me and my family. The staff is helpful, attentive and made us feel extremely welcome and taken care of. The food was great, the facilities beautiful. I’d definitely choose this hotel if I visit again, it’s smaller than some hotels in the area and I think it’s what makes it even more charming as they really focused on fulfilling all our needs and getting around was also easy and accessible. Very nice setting of the property right on the shore. Very clean around and unit was very clean and spacious. The food and beverage in buffets and restaurants was good and tasty.! The only suggestion if hotel will provide more bottles of water.

Everything about the hotel was great! I liked

The location is a bit outdated and it has a humidity smell. Elevators are small. Rooms have a good size but it feels weirdly. Beds are too hard for my personal comfort. Water gets all over the floor from the shower area. It takes a while for staff to refill the buffet area. Staff seemed slow or it felt like they were understaffed however the staff were very kind. I’m glad I had the “level”. Nice beach with calm water, it’s perfect for kids.

We had a wonderful stay here with our two young kids (ages 3 and 7 months). The resort was conveniently small, which made it easy to get back to the room for naps — a huge plus when traveling with little ones. We were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a suite, and the room was dark and soundproof, perfect for both night sleep and daytime naps. The food was varied and delicious every day, and the service was consistently great. We loved the beautiful beach and pool — it was never too busy, so there was no stress about rushing out early to save chairs. There were always loungers available. A couple of suggestions for improvement: adding more stroller-friendly ramps throughout the resort would make it easier to get around, and offering a way to stream or watch the nightly shows from the room would be amazing for parents with sleeping kids who still want to enjoy the entertainment. All in all, a great experience for a young family — we’d definitely return!

Melia Casa Maya is an all inclusive resort that felt like a small boutique hotel while we were there. The pool is not the biggest, it doesn't have as many restaurants as other resorts, but the staff is super friendly (for the most part) and their courtyard and beach area feel very sheltered. Overall we had a great time, we had the pleasure of enjoying a swim-up suite which was a game changer for us with young kids (8 an 10), it gave us a lot of room to just sit back and relax without having to worry about sunbeds being available at the main pool. Food-wise it's not the best, and that mostly reflects in the lack of choice. We tried the Italian restaurant, didn't like it at all, we ate at the Cape Nao twice, also wasn't necessarily our favorite.. but the buffet was very very similar every night, despite "theme's" being advertised by the concierge. The food at the buffet was fine, but pretty much the same almost every night. All that said, we had a great time and enjoyed the super friendly staff. There's a booth for water based adventures like parasailing, sea-doo-ing, that also hands out the towels. It's not cheap, but a lot of fun, definitely worth having a chat with the fellow in there. If you have young(er) kids, don't overlook kidsdom, the children's club. It's not a huge entertainment heavy thing, but the ladies that run it are amazing and despite their ages our kids had a ton of fun going there.
