If arriving by train in Alingsas, the Grand Hotel’s location can’t be beaten. Our room was very quiet except for the sound of the squeaky elevator passing the third floor. The housekeeping staff keep the hotel spotless. Other pluses include a comfy bed and a kettle in the room. I love staying in older hotels with charm and character. The Grand Hotel has this in spades.

Really lovely old hotel within 3 minutes walk of the station. Spacious and comfortable and lovely staff. Slightly limited dinner menu but what we ate was delicious and good quality. Fabulous breakfasts too and comfy beds after walking the Gotaleden trail.

Great hotel! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the rooms were clean and well maintained. Definitely returning to this hotel.

Good place which I always stay during biz trip.

Absolutely lovely hotel, staff was incredibly nice. Breakfast buffet was excellent. My stay was a quick business visit, but after staying there i intend to go back to the Alingsäs Grand for a personal trip. Wonder historic hotel and charming town!

A nice old property,

Location of the property is at the very center of the city - probably 2min away walking from the train station. Room very clean, and staff very friendly. Only downside I had with my room is that it feels a bit old and the water coming out from the basin is not hot enough - the water for bath no issues and very hot.

Overall a good stay. Breakfast was very good and parking convenient.

Very close to town square, and vegan options at buffet!

We booked a room at grand hotel and ended up having to walk out of the beautiful grand hotel to walk around the block across the street to another location called "lilla hotel" it felt very low class to have to leave the main hotel to go to another location without being informed during our booking and the staff was not very informative why this happened to us. Still not sure why as when checking out we were not asked by staff how are stay was. On the breakfast we unfortunately missed it. We were told it was until 1030 when in fact it was only until 930. So when waking up at 930 and then having to make the trek to the main hotel. We were to late. Very early for a holiday day it was 31 January. We have friends that live in Alingsås pretty sure next vist we will look at another hotel even though it was super comfortable and clean. We felt a bit unwelcomed and mislead on more then one thing.

Clean, and very good service, the complimentary breakfast was excellent with a variety of foods to choose from, they were flexible with me as tired and weary traveler from the U.S. to check me in early and check out a little late after the 12 noon checkout

The staff were very friendly and the cocktail bar is excellent! It is the oldest hotel in Sweden, well worth a stay.
