Very clean room, very comfy, the bed was a disappointment as it was two small singles pushed together to make a double which wasn't very comfortable, the food however and staff were excellent couldn't fault either, mind your head though on the low beams they hurt a lot

Staff were attentive and helpful from start to finish. The night I stayed there was a big family celebration and thought be difficult to get a meal, but staff very efficient and good food, as was breakfast. Well equipped room. Would definately go back.

Friendly hosts. Spacious rooms. Excellent breakfast. Great location. Comfortable beds. The noise from the bar went on past midnight, so let the hotel down.

Excellent welcome, our room was ready earlier than expected so very helpful as we were attending a wedding, room was clean with a comfortable bed,breakfast was very nice and the food was hot

Check in straightforward and quick. The room and bathroom were clean. There was a hair grip left in the bedside cabinet. Only two shower gels for a two day stay for two people. No shampoo. Unfortunately our room was located above the picnic tables for smokers so we couldn't open the window in the evenings. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and so was the evening meal. Parking on site. There is a village shop and post office. Conveniently located for Powis Castle and Welshpool.

We had room 6, bejou and spotless. Just 3 little gripes in the bathroom. 1) There is no blind on the window. 2) Mirror over basin is stomach height, husband had to bend double to shave. 3) No shelf for toiletries. Otherwise the hotel is great. The food is FABULOUS. Biggest lamb shank i'd ever had. Breakfast bacon is a must and perfect fried eggs. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Would definitely stay here again

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were immaculate. We had an evening meal which was lovely. The choice for breakfast was amazing from the fresh fruit to the cooked breakfast. Would recommend and definitely stay again

Excellent staff. Managed by someone who has been working there for decades. Very good refurbished rooms and pub food; both are very good value. Located in a quiet village - the opportunity of lovely walks on the doorstep is a bonus.

Room was great, bathroom recently refurbished, bar was clean, well stocked with great selection of drinks. All staff were wonderful, food was great quality, well cooked, with the best lamb shank I have ever had. We are looking forward to staying again soon. Thank you, John and Anita Coombs.

We were made to feel really welcome and at home - clearly a business that really values its clientele. We will definitely return when we are in the area.

Extremely pleasant and accommodating staff. Room was clean and warm as was the en-suite. Bed was very comfortable. Plenty of various tea and coffee sachets available in addition to milks and sweeteners etc. Breakfast was freshly cooked to liking. Although I had no problem parking, the car park is small with limited street parking opposite, which potentially could be an issue during busy periods. Overall, staying at The Talbot was an excellent experience.
