A reasonably priced hotel. Staff were helpful and kind. From the main road to the hotel roads are narrow and winding, understandably since Kandy is a hill country city.

The views were stunning. The staff friendly, helpful and eager to please. The chef cooked excellent meals. Thank you very much for looking after me during my stay.

Nice location, very friendly and corteous staff

Staff very helpful with arranging transport. This hotel is situated in a quiet location on the hillside above Kandy so they will arrange a tuk tuk to take you into town or a taxi for longer journeys. Food was fresh and tasty.

we stayed only one night but was a pleasant stay. As hotel is high on hill expect some wind noise, Had issue with Water supply which in under hour was fixed by hotel.

Didn't meet my expectations. Checkin too slow. The staff are polite and helpful. Didn't like the room, especially the bathroom.

This hotel was a disappointment after the great reviews that I read. On arriving in our room (103), the smell from the bathroom was disgusting. The bellboy actually flushed the toilet as soon as he came into our room. The bathroom had already been cleaned, and had a paper wrapped around the toilet claiming it was sanitized. I asked a member of the staff to come to ‘smell’ the bathroom. They agreed it was disgusting and suggested they put in a ‘fragrance’. There was no amount of fragrance, or spraying that would disguise the smell. There is something very wrong with their drains. I asked to be moved to a new room (something I have never done in my travels). Upon leaving the next morning, you could already smell the bathroom stench in our new room (203). I hope the hotel fixes their drainage problems, as the views are amazing.

Hotel is clean and modern, with air conditioning, amenities (TV, toiletries, safe) and helpful staff. The restaurant staff in particular were great, and the food was nice. Good balcony for sitting out in the evening.

Enjoyable stay at the Amaara Sky. Lovely service from the staff and nice dinner and breakfasts too. Room was comfortable. Possible to walk to town but the walk back is uphill so best avoided.

Delightful stay in the Amaara Sky Hotel. Room perfect, balcony wonderful for just sitting outside enjoying the fantastic views over Kandy, and the surrounding countryside. Service faultless. Minor problems with the TV fixed in an instant. Would happily stay again if/when in Kandy.

Food was horrendous got bitten by bed bugs.

Nice little hotel on the hill above Kandy, the staff were really adorable and they would do everything to make your stay a memorable one, but the hotel building was a little old. The rooms were comfortable though.

Amazing staff

Amara Sky is perhaps the best place to stay in the area. On the expensive side when compared to other properties in the region but well worth it. Good rooms with great views and excellent service. Decent food and amenities.

We call it "The Barking Dog Hotel". Good little (14 room) hotel, on the side of a hill with a lovely view of Kandy and the lake. 5 minute tuk-tuk ride (300 LKR) to downtown. As everyone else mentions, there are noisy stray dogs outside that bark loudly for most of the night. We knew about this, so we brought earplugs and enjoyed our stay. To get back to the hotel, make sure you have the hotel phone number or business card, because some tuk-tuk drivers didn't know it and had to phone the hotel for directions. No alcohol license, but a tuk-tuk can deliver to the hotel.

we stayed here for one night during our travels around Sri Lanka, we had a room on the end with a huge balcony that went all around the room so we could sit out and admire all the views. The service here was excellent, with very friendly staff. We had lunch and breakfast here and both were excellent. I would have preferred a room with blackout curtains as I woke very early to a bright room. The bathroom was clean but had a damp smell about it.

Excellent hotel, friendly staff, beautiful large rooms and perfect breakfast. Sadly only here for one day but was worth it.

Comfortable hotel with a nice view of the city. Rooms are comfortable but not particularly nice. Very good breakfast buffet Only negative point: We checked in on New Year's eve and the receptionist told us the buffet would be 50usd per person, no other choice… After negotiation he accepted to give us a normal price!
