Very clean comfortable rooms. Staff were very friendly. Hotel was in a great location, very walkable and safe with lots of stores and restaurants around it.

We were very unhappy with our room, personnel, amenities and cleanliness. It was a sad disappointment!

This hotel's main selling point is the location in downtown, at the same time could be a con due to the traffic congestion. They really need to work on two things, the parking should be included valet or escorting you to find the garage around the corner. Front desk will keep telling you directions but the entrance is not marked. We wasted almost half hour trying to follow those stupid directions going around those blocks in that traffic. Also, the room doors are so old/historical that the locks do not always work. We went to bed only to realize in the morning the door was unlocked. Meaning that the lock did not properly latch all the way. They should put modern locks or some other way to ensure privacy/safety. Imagine a woman traveling alone, could not be completely safe.

Staff was harrassing, I was charged for cleaning of a sofa, charged daily for my SERVICE dog (with international permit).

El Meson is a quaint basic little hotel. It’s centrally situated at the south of el Centro and convenient to the city. It’s a bit rustic but very nice. In the lower level is a restaurant offering a discount to residents. It offers clean rooms, shower, daily maid service and friendly staff. If you want basic amenities, I give el meson my top rating.

Great place

Hotel has a great location. The street has a lot of traffic, so if you are sensitive to street sounds this would be something to consider. Bed was comfortable. The front desk was very helpful getting me a taxi when I was leaving.

For the price this is a very good option to be in the center of Xalapa. Our room was small but we only needed to crash for a night. The coffee in the room was excellent the shower was very good and walking out there were many excellent options for breakfast.

We are very pleased with the staff. They have a good helpful attitude. The rooms are unique, vintage. If you get a suite, specify which one you would like as each one is different. The food in the restaurant owned by the same property is excellent!! Thank you for your hospitality

Such a charming hotel! Everyone was so kind and attentive. The restaurant was fantastic. Parking is included. The hotel is in the center of everything and just a block away from Juarez Park. Highly recommend!
