This property maintains a lovely lobby area and the hotel room was clean. That's the good. The not-so-good...the bed was hard, the light beside the bed would not turn off. We called the desk, they sent someone to fix it and he could not. The solution? Point the light down toward the floor...No offer to change rooms. The restaurant food was expensive and not good.

We were warmly welcomed and the check in was quick, easy and our room was upgraded.

Shops on the first floor were never open, the majority of staff had no ideas or references for shopping. Very limited ability to charge to room (results in multiple charges and fees for international visitors). Overall, these were small things as the hotel is lovely, the rooms comfortable, the location excellent, and several staff members (Svitlana at reception) are exceptional.

Very special and clean room. I will stay at Dostyk again!

Good location Staff helpful Never a five star hotel Souless, dated and rooms have zero soundproofing. Worst thing was half a weeks laundry cost $80 to do!! Daylight robbery. Overall it was fine, but nothing special.

Our hotel stay was amazing. Very helpful front desk and hotel staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Many of the staff spoke English and were very helpful on local information and suggestions. Housekeeping staff were there every morning and supplied water, tea and coffee to our room. Our original stay was for 7 days but we had to extend our stay twice, and the hotel staff took care of everything. We had the breakfast buffet every morning and were very pleased with the food selections. We will stay here again whenever we return to Almaty!

Really liked this hotel in Almaty. The breakfast was great. Rooms were really bright, very clean and spacious. Staff was super helpful. Overall it was perfect and no complaints whatsoever. Will stay again if I’m ever back in Almaty.

Check-in as a VIP access was granted at 11 am. Late check-out was also given to us. Airport transfers were done for us. Friendly and helpful front desk and staff. The place is within walking distance to popular Almaty attractions.

I visit Almaty at least ones a year for one or two weeks for the past 8 years I always stay at the Dostyk. Love the Place, the staff are very professional, polite, helpful. The location is very convenient. The food at the restaurant and bar suburb, kudos to the chef Alecksandr Fomich, he never disappoints. The rooms are a little outdated, however clean and very comfortable. I wish they would install a railing on the front steps. In the winter it makes me nervous because of the possibility of slipping. I will definitely be back.

Very nice hotel in the middle of everything

Grat stay, friendly staff, front desk was very helpful when I had an emergency and needed to go to a hospital, they arranged everything including Taxi to hospital, who refused to take any money for the ride. That was very kind and helpful from the Hotel and the Taxi driver side. All I can say is THANKS

The stay was very nice and pleasant. The food was delicious. One little thing - our air conditioner leaked over night but over all we loved everything.

Excellent location. Convient to good food, shopping, transport and all city sights/amenities. Staff and services are top quality.

The hotel room is bigger than average clean very big comfortable bed. Our 15 month old baby had a nice comfortable crib too. Due to COVID measures the restaurant and swimming pool were not open. Hotel is in a wealthy part of the city’s very close to restaurants and cafes. We had a great stay. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We will stay here again

Room was excellent great bathroom ,large room Breakfast very well presented in a fairly formal room. Negatives the beauty services went available dispite the hotel Saying they were,pool was functional but a Little tired Last of all while some of the reception staff and foyer staff were wonderful one woman was not at all welcoming or helpful

I was very pleasantly surprised by this property. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Food was very good as well. Rooms are quiet and comfortable
