I stayed here for 2 nights - to be fair I slept well but that was the only positive of the stay. In the morning I woke up and opened the blinds, to find that the window was boarded up and didn't exist (Room 6). The floor had lots of small insects on it and the bathroom was tiny. For $180/night it was really poor value and I would choose somewhere else when next in Mackay. Some colleagues were in cheaper hotels that night that were far better. I wouldn't recommend accommodations here to a friend.

During the visit to the Boomerang Motor Hotel' bar/restaurant, the establishment was relatively quiet. Due to ongoing kitchen renovations, all food was served on disposable tableware. The order was delivered in under 20 minutes. The beef burger and slider lacked flavor and did not meet expectations, but the chicken parmigiana was quite good. The sweet potato fries were enjoyable, though the portion size was small. The tables and the overall premises were clean and well-maintained.

My husband and I recently had lunch in the new beer garden at the Boomerang Hotel, and we were so impressed. The food was absolutely excellent, fresh, generous portions, and beautifully presented. Everything came out promptly and tasted fantastic. The service was just as good, friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being over the top. The new beer garden itself is such a great addition. It’s a lovely, cool space to sit back, enjoy a meal and a few drinks, and relax. What really stood out was being able to comfortably watch the kids in the play area while we enjoyed ourselves, it makes such a difference for families. A wonderful atmosphere all round. We’ll definitely be back!

Really?? $50 medium rare and you get well done. What a waste. Bar staff are good tho.

$41.50 for a ceasar salad with chicken and avo. You would think it would be a decent size you would be wrong. Went with friends for dinner and 1 meal never came and 1 meal came as a completely different meal. Staff didn't seem to care and management could care less and it was a 30min ordeal to get a refund. Don't book outside absolutely no heat we froze all night. Miserable experience
