Our stay was okay until the last night when an intruder tried to break into our cabin around 4.45am., We were in No. 12 towards the rear of the park. We had inadvertently left the security sliding door unlocked, so that's on us, the glass sliding door was locked. The intruder was very persistent and tried for some time to gain entry, even though our car was there and it was obvious our cabin was occupied. After a lot of shouting and so on trying to scare him away, he eventually wandered off.
On advising the park manager the next morning, we were surprised at how absolutely uncaring and disinterested he was. He said not to report the event to the police and when I asked for a late checkout, I received a hard no.
We did make a police report and were advised to call 000 next time.
Our main negative was the attitude of the manager. A small kindness from him would have cost him nothing and would have meant a great deal to us. Fellow travellers however did not disappoint. Several called in on us to check we were okay.
Having seen the managers reply I must add, this was absolutely NOT a lost person looking for their cabin. We did know that the manager would have an answer for everything, having been told by others about his attitude and lack of accountability. Further, the cabin was not to a standard we would expect. The Venetian blinds were broken and the operating chains were not secured in line with Australian standards and law, one light in the second bedroom didn't work, the TV cable was fed through a permanently open external window, the vertical blinds had 2 panels missing.
Generally speaking, maintenance was below what you would expect when paying the fee charged.
