The location is paradise, the staff were amazing the food was wonderful… if thinking about booking my advice would be, not to hesitate, we do 2 safari’s book on the day of arrival with the hotel… there own vehicle & driver lunch & refreshments were provided, an all round amazing experience in this little slice of Paradise with zero light pollution (if you like star gazing)

Yala Safari Camping is such an incredible & unique experience. The tents are so nice, the staff is beyond incredible. I stayed as a solo female traveler back in December and I felt so safe and taken care of. They help coordinate two safaris for me during my stay. The wifi wasn’t working while I was there so they gave me a hotspot to borrow while I was staying so I could keep up with work calls and emails.

Such a wonderful experience, glamping tent in the jungle was very large and the bed was comfortable. Lunch on the first day was truly exceptional in taste, presentation and quantity. The best meal we have had to date in Sri Lanka. Staff and safari were special.

We absolutely loved our stay here. From dining under the stars by candlelight in the national park to waking up in the heart of the bush in our gorgeous accommodation- it was magical. Breakfast in the treetops was an unforgettable experience, and the entire setting felt like something out of a dream. The staff were attentive to our every need, and a special mention goes to Robbie, who was simply amazing throughout our stay. This place is an absolute must when visiting Yala. We can’t wait to return!

Wow, what an experience. When we pulled up into the camp, there was an elephant just there (a tusker no less). The standards were consistently high from there. We were well looked after by the manager Ravi, with impeccable service throughout. My wife's gluten free requirement being well looked after. The views are stunning, the food was great. At camp we sat and watched birds, and beyond seeing an elephant we saw a leopard just crossing the road outside! Before going to bed... Shine a torch into the canopy overhead, and there was a polecat (civet), desperately climbing away from us! Two days of safari in yala, were two of the best of our lives. Elephants, leopards, bears, birds, jackals, buffalo... Achi (driver) made sure we didn't miss a thing. 10/10, if you love nature, don't hesitate to stay here. One thing to note is the price doesn’t include safari. Top tip - take ear plugs, you really are completely surrounded by nature all the time.

What an amazing time we had at yala safari camping! The place is magical - completely immersed in the jungle, with trees as far as the eye can see and the mountains in the distance. Our « tent » (it’s not really a tent, definitely more like a luxury cabin) was in front of a lily pad pond and the sounds of the frogs made it a super relaxing place to sleep. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and served a Sri Lankan meal with vegetable curries and jumbo prawns which was delicious. We then went on our first safari half day with Achi in block 5 where we spotted elephants, a leopard and plenty of monkeys, deers and various birds. The next day, we went to a full day drive on block 1 with Niro, and we loved how he spent time showing us various birds - from eagles to egret, kingfishers and bee-eaters - he had a keen eye to spot and we were fascinated with all that we discovered in the jungle. We even saw another leopard walking peacefully down the road, a family of elephants bathing, a malabar pied horn bill, painted storks, mongooses, monitor lizards, deer, grey langurs, and even Sri Lankan’s national animal the giant squirrel. On our last day, we went on a bush walk with Chamara, and walked through the forest and climbed a small mountain to get incredible views. Overall Ravi and his team gave us an unforgettable experience and were lovely, attentive and kind with great attention to detail across everthing. Definitely one to remember and return to!

I recently had the pleasure of spending two nights at Yala Safari Camping, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience! From start to finish, the service and hospitality were exceptional, making my stay truly special. A heartfelt thank you to Ravi, the manager, who ensured every detail was perfect and made sure I felt well taken care of throughout my stay. His dedication to guest satisfaction was evident in every interaction. Achi, at the front desk, welcomed me with a warm smile and made the check-in process smooth and efficient. Her friendly and helpful demeanor set the tone for a fantastic stay. The culinary experience was one of the highlights, thanks to the talented chefs Promod and Chamit. Each meal was a delightful adventure, but breakfast was particularly memorable with a variety of delicious Sri Lankan dishes. The flavors and presentation were outstanding, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of Sri Lanka. Aveen, our waiter, provided excellent service during meals, always attentive and ready with a cheerful smile. He ensured that every dining experience was enjoyable and seamless. Special thanks to Chamara and Madawa, the lobby boys, who were always on hand to assist with anything we needed. Their efficiency and friendliness added to the overall comfort and ease of my stay. Yala Safari Camping provided the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, with a team that went above and beyond to create a memorable experience. I highly recommend it!

If you're seeking an immersive nature experience, Yala Safari Camping is an unforgettable adventure. Nestled near the Yala National Park in Sri Lanka, this camping site offers an ideal blend of wilderness and comfort. The tents are beautiful. Calling them tents probably is not the right term. They are so spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, offering a balance between rustic charm and modern convenience. The tub in the room is such a nice touch. The highlight, of course, is the proximity to the park itself. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle and then heading out for a safari is an experience that’s hard to beat. After a day of exploration, the campsite offers a peaceful retreat with delicious meals. The food is freshly prepared, and the chef does a fantastic job. The whole team is wonderful; so gracious and do their best to meet every request, always with a smile. Overall, Yala Safari Camping offers an excellent balance of adventure, nature, and comfort. Whether you’re a wildlife enthusiast or just looking for a unique getaway, it’s a fantastic option that provides an authentic and memorable safari experience. It is beyond magical. Leaving here is hard.

From the bottom of our hearts we write this review with warmth & Appreciation Yala Safari Camping & its team is and will forever remain as one of our greatest experiences & memories as a couple & as a monumental time on our 3 week journey we called out honeymoon. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with kindness and a level of hospitality that could only be measured by the finest hotels as 5 Star treatment. Our expectations were brood & we left ourselves open & willing to whatever might have come. The overlooking view when you arrive of Yala National Park is absolutely breathtaking and one of a kind. Mahesh, Yala Safari Camping’s young & vibrant owner was personally there to ensure that our stay was nothing less than stellar. His energy & passion towards his company & his guests were evident every minute he was in our presence. He has created an atmosphere that is nothing less then extravagant among the natural and rugged wilderness. Ravi, the leading manager, is a man experience. His personable approach to the guest makes you feel as if there is not a thing impossible well staying with them. Ravi ran a very strong team, his leadership abilities shined through, and his staff held him to the highest standard, as he did his staff. Our Safari Driver, Ichi knew how to navigate the jungle better than anyone else in the park, & our friend & inspiration Kelum, the leading Chef at Yala Safari, delivered mouth watering meals that filled our bellies!

Yala Safari Camping provided a great 'glamping' experience, with excellent canvas tents with proper beds and bathroom. The campground was lit in the evenings by candlelight to enjoy drinks and dinner. The location was the best in the area, providing great access to Yala national park without having to enter through any towns, keeping the safari experience real! The accomodation could be improved considering the cost to stay here, but overall we would definately go there again.
