We couldnt have asked anything better. Great room amazing staff and easily walkable to the train, resturants and conveince store. Highly recommended

Room was massive, double the size of any room we have stayed in in Japan. Pillows had both Western and traditional Japan options. Fiona was encompassed in a fitted sheet (never seen this before) but kept us all warm even when it was sub 0 outside. Room had access to outdoor area, exclusive to the room, which had table and chairs. As it was an insensitive, there was only a toilet in the room - all showering had to be done downstairs in the onsen. Onsen was boiling hot - too hot for most of our group. Tip - if you don’t want to keep pushing the button to keep the water going har a shower in the onsen on the left. Location wise was great too - couple of minutes to the train (although up a very steep hill) and near lots of restaurants and the bus for the Snow Monkeys. Enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Great food and staff

We loved our time at this ryokan. The hosts were wonderful, and so accommodating. The room was huge and very comfortable.

Impeccably clean, nice hot onsen, super helpful front desk. Cozy comfy beds. We don’t try the food but we will next time because it smelled delicious. *expedia site is WRONG - it’s not a 3 minute walk to ski resort - It’s a 30 min drive.

It's a decent place to stay. I'd say about 3.5 stars out of 5. Downsides are an older building, and water in the onsen too hot for me personally to tolerate (definitely seemed a few degrees warmer than other onsens I've visited). The Wifi also was poor, being slow and frequently losing connection. This ryokan, on the plus side, is very close to the train station and a convenient jumping off spot to visit the Snow Monkey Park. It can be walked, although I suspect most people will take the bus.

This was the perfect place to stay to ho see the Snow Monkey. Excellent staff, clean, comfortable hotel just down the hill from the train station and bus stop. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this hotel.

The Ryokan director, Shino Onozawa, was terrific! We arrived early and our room was ready. We selected the breakfast option, which was delicious. Shino made our stay there the perfect Ryokan experience. The town was very easy to navigate, and the snow monkeys were short taxi ride away. I would highly recommend this location.

This place was our stepping stone to see the Snow Monkeys. We wanted to experience a total Onsen and we weren't disappointed. The food and service to detail was amazing. The bathing rituals were a laugh for us. Being 5'7" tall, I found the wash basin very low and challenging to say the least. Our host drove us up to the snow monkey park and also to the train at the end of our time there.

Simply perfect stay in a traditional onsen ryokan. The Onsen bath was a little hard to get used to (whilst the rooms are massive and there are toilets, it is a traditional ryokan and so you bathe in the onsen). Even my super conservative sister got used to it and we all loved the experience. The staff are really helpful and even drove us to the station when we nearly missed our ski bus.

Really recommend this place for easy Snow Monkey access and simply awesome Japanese Hospitality! We had two rooms - a Western and Japanese style. Both really nice and big. The onsen is awesome and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Super easy to access from the station (5 minute walk). Also, the dinners were some of the best we had in our 2 weeks in Japan. Super recommend.

女将さんをはじめ従業員の方々のホスピタリティが素晴らしかったです。 しかし、いくつか残念な点がありました。まず朝食ですが、一人２０００円するものの冷凍食品をお皿の上に乗せただけのような印象を受けるクオリティでした。 また、お部屋のユニットバスから下水の匂いがしたこと、大浴場も広くない点はあらかじめ知っておきたかったです。 残念な点がいくつかあったものの、女将さんやロケーションの良さを考えると料金相応なのではないかと思います。

バリアフリーに配慮された改装が施されていることが印象的。 車いすでの移動に配慮して部屋の中でも空間が広めでベッドは電動ベッドだった。 食堂の机や配置も同様で、そういったものが必要な方々にはやさしい施設だと思われる。 そうでない方にはちょっと情緒がないと感じられるかも。 スタッフは丁寧で親切でとても良かったです。

おかみさんはとても親切で感じが良い方でした。 しかし、隣のお部屋の口笛まで聞こえて気を使うお部屋でした。
