I stayed here yesterday because it was the only hotel very close to the event venue. I felt very lucky, as any Novotel is guaranteed to be comfortable, and the staff are super helpful and friendly. I asked to check out at 2:00 PM, and they allowed me to, as I still had work to do. Other than that, the hotel was quite clean, and the food was quite good. For two nights here, it wasn't disappointing ^^

Stayed at Novotel Makassar for 2 nights for business. The room was okay so far, the cleanliness was okay, the amenities were also okay. The only thing lacking was: first, the speed of the front office during check-in. The staff were all friendly and the service was friendly too, but why did the check-in process take so long? Second, during breakfast, the first day I had breakfast a little late at 9:30, I understand that many of the food had not been refilled, but it was a bit annoying because the hotel staff were also running around getting food. When I asked for eggs, the staff at the egg station responded like an intern on their first day, lol. The second day I had breakfast at 9:30, the gado-gado seasoning had no salt. When I complained, the answer was that it had been given, I said just try it, and indeed, there was no salt. The restaurant/breakfast area was also hot so it was uncomfortable. Also, I think the staff at the restaurant could be trained more on how to respond to hotel guests when they ask for something.
