Amazing stay, very unique and the food was beautiful and wonderful. Restaurant staff were unobtrusive, friendly, knowledgeable and just great. Would love to return and stay for longer.

A unique place! The building is of 12th century, staying there is quite an experience. Nicely decorated, very clean with some communal areas available. The staff is friendly and helpful. The area around is quiet but you need a car to travel around. Parma is only a short drive away. We were very much looking forward to breakfast there but it was quite limited, so we decided to have breakfast elsewhere. We would definitely stay there again!

We use this hotel every time we travel from UK to Italy as it is such a convenient stop off near the autostrada. The ex-convent is lovely and the gourmet restaurant a delight.

This is a regular stopping off point for us on the way to and from the UK and Abruzzo. It is always a great place to stay with outstanding food.

A beautiful former monastery. Unusual hotel in as location which was only convenient by virtue of being close to our route (Sicily to Calais). The village was utterly deserted in the evening and we literally went without food for over 12 hours until breakfast - which was uninspiring. Please please, EAF before you check in - or bring your own food.

The place is amazing. It look like a museum. You just want to relax and enjoy peacefully this old monastic place. Bathroom are brand new. The only minus is you can ear neighbors if rhey are noisy. But people seems to be sensible to the ambiance so boise level was very comfortable when I was there.

Having stayed here before, we knew what to expect. It is a delightful ex-monastery which has been converted into a hotel. They have kept the ambiance with a variety of unusual exhibits in eachcommunal area outside a set of rooms which are converted monks cells - each with an excellent en-suite. Both the dinner and breakfast are varied and well prepared including local produce. Once again we felt the cost of our stay was excellent value.

It was my first time to stay here. My largest client is 4-5 Km away . The Relais is fine for business stays . I will use the restaurant next time I stay

A wonderful old building with large courtyard and lovely rooms. Excellent restaurant. The hotel is in the centre of the village adjacent to the church.

This was an overnight stay on our way from Pescara to the UK. It is a unique property with excellent connection to the autostrada near Parma, We were particularly impressed with the quality of the evening meal in the delightful restaurant - including the very reasonable cost of a bottle of Montepulciano. The three differently aged Parmigianos to finish the meal were a highlight we will long remember.

Relais Fontevivo is a unique place! Hotel is located inside a building of a medieval monastery - one of those that were build like a fortress. Building itself, inner yard, restaurant - they are all beautiful, and quite an unusual setting for a hotel. Rooms are furnished in a way that preserves that feeling of its previous purpose, with spartan furnishing, and bare floors, but with everything you need in the room and bathroom. Single room I used did not have a minibar (fridge was there, but it wasn't stocked). Make sure you bring slippers when you come. Those cobbled stone floors can be a bit cold in winter time. ;0)

Beautiful hotel built into ancient abbey. Elegant restaurant with creative and delicious food. Very extensive, lovely breakfast included in great value price for rooms. Rooms are simple but there are many picturesque and comfortable places to lounge around the property. I will come back again. There is nothing to do in town, but Parma is only 30 minutes away.

Great structure, monastery of the 12th century . Recommend to use restaUrant and walk around the hotel’s courtyard and halls but do not stay here. Rooms are small , uncomfortable, missed heating when we arrived at 12 degrees C , shower has filthy curtain which were claimed to be as in the times of the monks. It’s fine if the owners decide to keep authencity of the monastery life , then don’t place TVs in the room 😃 Interesting place to visit but not to stay

We had some difficulty finding this because it uses the name 12 Monarchi and not Relais Fontevivo. But he pizzeria across the street directed us to the unlikely front of the hotel. Once you enter, it's like another world- gorgeous! The proprietor, Letizia welcomed us and even provided a sumptuous breakfast early the next morning so we could make our flight out of Malpensa. The bathroom was especially nice, with an unusually large shower(by Italian standards). The room was rather small but the character and aged charm made that insignificant. The church bell tower could be seen and heard in the splendid courtyard as we had our morning cappuccino! All this while Laetizia seemed to simultaneously be caring for her 2 month old baby! Like staying in a palace! Grazie mille!
