My stay was nice without any problem. Hotel is located a bit far from evening attraction but provides ferry tickets for each day in order to get to the other side of Elba river and Bad Schandau.

Big property with lots of little courtyards to sit privately, outside areas with very comfortable armchairs, beautiful terrace for lunch and dinner. Just 3 min walk to the Elbe park with playground, stop for boats and ferries, 2 min walk to the bus, 8 min to the train… the perfect spot to explore the Saxony Switzerland area by foot, bike…

We booked a little apartment with breakfast, which gave the luxury of a hotel combined with the freedom of an apartment with a small kitchen, a fridge and an upstairs bedroom. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast buffet was very good and the coffee was strong, as it should be. The view was stunning and one gets a free train/bus/boat pass to go around for hikes.

At first we were put in a room in an adjacent building at ground level with the path behind the hotel. We would not have been able to open our window so we asked for a different room. They offered one on the 4th and 5th floors facing the river. Despite carrying our suitcase up 5 floors these were both much better. We were concerned about the train but with the window closed at night we never heard it. I think we could have left one of the windows open. Room was basic, no fridge and it took about 20 minutes minimum to get hot water in the shower. They did give us ice at night for drinks.

Really nice hotel in Krippen. We arrived late night but they left the key for us outside the hotel. Nice, clean room and complete breakfast. Would totally recommend for a weekend gate-away!

We were placed on 3rd floor under the roof although there were plenty of rooms free. There is no escalator. The curtain in the room did not function. The wall at one side was oblique so that you had do bow down when leaving the bed. Not satisfying. Breakfast was fine.

The shower was broken as was the blind over the skylight which was over the bed....... great for star gazing but not for sleeping. We notified staff about these problems and were told nothing could be done until later in the week by which time we had left. Other guests had similar problems.......not good enough for this level of property.

Excellent choice of hotel!

The location is wonderful, on the west bank of the Elbe river opposite Bad Schandau. The building dates back to 1715 but the interior is thoroughly modern. Our room was on the second floor but there is no lift. There is main line railway close by but the double glazing is very effective and it did not disturb us at all at night. During the daytime you get used to them and the variety of services is quite interesting in its own right. There was plenty of choice at breakfast served in a large airy dining room. Across from the hotel is the vault which serves food in the evening. This is a fixed price buffet. When this is closed there is another pub about 100 metres away. You are given a guest card which enables you to use the ferry across to Bad Schandau without additional payment. here is a railway station about 10 minute's walk away with regular services to Dresden. The hotel has its own parking facility. This is a very quiet area popular with walkers and particularly cyclists, who can ride many miles along the river bank.

Nice place to stay, just a walk from the Elbe river. 10-12 minutes by car from Saxon-Switzerland national park.

No wi-fi in rooms as advertised. The hotel is a ferry ride away (across the river) from the nearest village/town. Staff very friendly.

Personal sehr nett. Tolle Frühstücksauswahl. Abstellmöglichkeit für Fahrräder.

Godt placeret for vandringer i området

Der freudliche und sachkundige, (was Auskünfte betraf), Empfang. Ich habe mich in den Räumlichkeiten des Hauses wohl gefühlt. Da ich nur zu einer Übernachtung das Quartier genommen hatte, lässt sich von meiner Seite nichts weiter sagen.
