This is a beautiful hotel with a cool, unique design, and great features like the rooftop pool and lounging area with a bar. Just walking in, you can see the creative thought put into the space, which looks totally different than any other hotel I’ve seen. My room was perfectly clean, every day, and the layout makes the room feel spacious and comfortable. I really appreciated details such as the padded window seat, the lit full length mirror when you open the cabinet door, and extra amenities (kits with a toothbrush, cotton pads and swabs, comb, shower cap, and more). Just as amazing as the hotel itself are the staff, who are genuinely kind and helpful. I don’t remember names, but everyone deserves recognition. The staff members who helped me find the bus route to a nice beach, kindly gave suggestions and opinions every time I asked, always smiling and saying hello or goodbye. The people who help with luggage, just very friendly in passing, adding to the positive energy there. The day I had to leave, I was running late for the airport and panicking, and a man in the front took my worrying very seriously and helped me get into a taxi within a minute. On the day of my birthday, which I told the staff before leaving to do activities for the day, I returned to find an amazing cake and fruit platter waiting in my room, with a sweet birthday message. This hotel made my trip extra special, and enhanced my experience in Barcelona. Gracias!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Catalonia Magdalene’s. The location was great within walking distance of the cathedral and Les Rambles. The roof pool area was lovely and you could see the cathedral. The room had everything we needed and an amazing shower and comfortable beds. The staff were very helpful and lovely and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely stay here again. Alfredo in particular was fantastic.

Very friendly staff and great location. Pool is the size of a large bathtub but was lovely to sit beside and dip into.

The only issue was the temperature in the rooms. We visited during a very hot weekend and whilst the air con worked it was slightly warmer than would have liked and still needed a fan. We set the air con to the lowest, however the bathroom had quite a bit of heat due to the heated mirror when light was on and the heated towel rail (which was on all the time). As there was no ‘air tight’ door this gate crept into the bedroom. As I say it was an exceptionally hot week and during normal temps this probably would have been okay.

The staff was super helpful and friendly. The rooms are modern, clean, and the hotel is close to everything. Would highly recommend.

The place was wonderful. Breakfast was quite a spread with Spanish dishes as well as onlettes made to order. Room spotless, clean, fresh. Staff was so helpful, shout-out to Simo who helped us with EVERYTHING! he even did a but if translating with us to Taxis. We were leaving as Tour de France was starting and everyone was helpful in getting us to Cruise Terminal on time. Any visit to Barcelona includes a stay here! 5*****

Really amazing experience. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Responded to requests quickly. One of the best breakfast buffets I have ever been to. Great little pool on the rooftop with bar service.

Beautiful clean room and amazing staff. Everyone at Catalonia Magdelenes was super helpful and accommodating! Great location and near to many, many shops and restaurants. My daughter lives in, Spain (last 6+ years) and we are Europe every year to see her! :) I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Barcelona.

Location people excellent hotel

Excellent location very near the Palau de la Musica and the Barcelona cathedral that was all dressed up for the Pope’s June 2026 visit. The room felt modern and surprisingly spacious for its relatively small footprint. The rain showerhead was luxurious, the room was spotless, and it was very quiet despite being in the center of a great neighborhood. Adam, the bellhop, was extremely helpful with directions and tips! Trigo Cafe is a 2-min walk and has fantastic breakfasts if you don’t want to do the hotel’s buffet. We would definitely stay at another Catalonia property again!

The friendly staff was very helpful with suggesting restaurants and arranging taxis for us. Shout out to Adam and Alfonso. Clean, spacious, well-equipped rooms! Loved the bathrobes and slippers. Excellent shower with rain shower and wand options, both with good water pressure.

Walking distance to some great sites. Plenty of restaurants close by. Staff super helpful. Nice breakfast buffet.

Friendly and attentive staff . Alex was phenomenal in assisting us with this information, bags, and restaurant reservations and directions. The pool staff was also engaging and made some very nice Sangria.

I would like to give the staff 6 stars ✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️. David on the Front Desk saved me from having a breakdown, when I realised I had left my passport at the last hotel. He helped me organise retrieval of the documents. Naya was also wonderful in helping me arrange two day tours in Barcelona. Great staff. I am so grateful for their assistance.
