At €30 for the night you can’t expect the Ritz... Our expectations were low based on the price, so to be honest we were happy with the short stay.
Location, location, location... sums it up. You couldn’t get closer to the Port if you tried... Especially handy as our ferry departed exactly opposite at gate E7. The room was extremely basic. The bed was comfortable considering, although I’d take your own pillow if you can (they were very lumpy). The bathroom/toilet was no bigger than a phone box... It was a tad smelly could have done with pouring some bleach down the drains. Some of the electric wiring in the room (lamps) would be best described as questionable.
The guy at reception was very friendly and accommodating to our requests... He kindly carried my friends bag up the stairs to the room.
All in all it cost €30 and we were there no longer than six hours prior to or ferry so you can’t complain at what you get for the very cheap price tag. The Porto Grill just outside offers very nice food and a reasonable price... Very good. There’s also a 24hr bakery on the front opposite where we caught the ferry which did nice pastries and you could grab a coffee.
