It is hard to evaluate this hotel. The location is very good, close to a beautiful stretch of the beach but there is nothing around it in terms of other restaurants or shopping. The overall infrastructure is quite nice, especially the pools and mini water park, but the rooms are beyond dated (i haven't seen such a bad TV as the one I found in the rooms in ages). Plus, while every individual staff member was friendly and helpful (including the ladies in charge of kids activities during the day), there are some inherently service structural issues that led to poor logistics during breakfast and delayed service in the restaurant. Speaking of the restaurant, prices are high (probably 30% to 40% in comparison to what one would find in Fortaleza) due to the lack of competition. However, the variation in portion sizes is really bizarre. Some dishes (like "Camarao a Grega") will satisfy two people while others (like "Camarao Oriental") are only enough for one person, even though both dishes are described as a "two-person portion". For an international traveler who finds herself in Fortaleza, Hotel Jangadeiro is a decent option for a family, but it is hard to fully recommend it.
